It's a happy one from me this time ;) It's really rare and I hope You'll enjoy :)

It's a tribute to old times (early '90 of 20th century) when Amiga was my main source of fun and my music creation tool. 

I created this piece on August 28, 2022 but I wasn't technically ready to release it. I was really green at the time in music production. So it was in my "drawer" until couple days ago. I've tweaked it a bit and here we are!

AMIGAzed

In the late 1980s, I had the opportunity to watch in the cinema Godfrey Reggio's documentary "Koyaaniquatsi" with music by Philip Glass and produced by Francis Ford Coppola, and I became a fan of the soundtrack from this film.

A few months ago I was watching the third season of "Stranger Things" and suddenly, in the third episode, in the last scene, I heard familiar sounds. Without checking, I could tell I could hear Phillip's music. And so it was. My fascination was revived and I felt the urge to create something similar to his style.
Unfortunately, my creativity and time has its limits and I haven't been able to make a full song... yet ;) But I'm sharing with you an idea, or rather an introduction to this piece. I hope you like it at least a little :)

Looking Through the Glass

This is my little story. Close your eyes and go with Ryan Gosling and his car ("Drive") to the night ride through rainy, bladerunnerish, big City of Lights 😉

For anyone who needs a bit of calm down after an intense day at work.

All begun with downloading free version of Vital Synth...
Same day made some loops with it and next day do the little jamming with them. I did some improvisation that had to be edited a bit, but I hope it's passable 😉

Vital Signs

This track is a tribute to genre which flourish in 90's, a love letter to bands like US3, Jazzmatazz, Incognito, Brand New Heavies, Groove Collective and of course Miles Davies and his marvellous "Doo-Bop".

I started working on this piece around July 2022. I've stuck on my inability to do any advanced jazz solos/improvisation and embellishments so this track ended up in my "musical drawer".
Luckily, after finishing my previous piece "Vital Signs", where I used sax VST, I shyly approached Jörg aka @joerxworx with a request to evaluate my saxophone scribbles and a proposal to finish my unrealized piece.
Jörg turned out to be a nice, understanding guy who willingly joined this project. At this point, I would like to thank him very much for this wonderful contribution to this piece, a lot of advice he gave me and a lot of patience for my slow work.

The Two of Us

The Two of Us (feat. joerxworx)

Some time ago @dj-pietrekb showed me a great free Kontakt (it works on free Player version) plug-in called Arcane by Embertone. I decided to use one of the 4 "instruments" contained in it (that unusual single female vocal) to create this little track.
Beside that I've used a great UVI DXS synthesizer from the Digital Synsations pack, Massive and, known to those who follow my tracks: Epic Choir, Epic Strings and Cinematic Percussion from the Originals series by Spitfire, Flutes and Trumpets from Spitfire's Free BBC SO Discovery.
I used 2 samples: Djembe 120bpm from Ableton Live's Core Library and Chimes Finger Down from, also Ableton's, Drum Essentials pack.

While creating this track, I noticed that it sounds very similar to Ennio Morricone's works, especially those from the movie "The Mission" 😉 which was not my intention at all... It just turned out that way 😆

I hope you like it at least a little bit.

Have You Seen an Elf?

This is a second part of my triptych "Memories From the City of Light", begun with "Vital Signs". A love theme, a story of my heroes love – full of uncertainty, unfulfillment and even danger... Creating this piece I had in mind two couples: Rachel and Rick Deckard from Ridley Scott's "Blade Runner" and Irene and Driver from Nicolas Winding Refn's "Drive".

This track is also a homage to one of the greatest composers - Ewangelos Odiseas Papathanasiu aka Vangelis.

In production again I've reach out for help to Jörg aka @joerxworx and his tenor saxophone on which he beautifully performed, catching the atmosphere of this track in couple of amazing sounds – thank You my friend for Your patience!

Story behind the scenes:

This track was created one day (about 4 weeks ago) when I had one beer that went hard to my head. I sat before my computer and tried to listen my previous tracks and I felt very unsatisfied by all that music. It felt like everything was... heartless.
In that moment I took all my feelings, all memories of happy and not so happy love to create this track.

In the process I got mad at my 2 octaves Novation LaunchKey mini keyboard, because my hands almost couldn't fit both on such a small device... and I understood it limits my creativity... Time to change... something ;)

Also it's a first time I played without metronome. This track is completely devoid of tempo. These are the pure emotions of playing live.

The Space Between Us

And again I'm returning to Fantasy Land...
This time my bunch of misfits are going on a little trip and this short piece could be the background for these scenes.

First was Irish Harp which I wanted to test at last after getting it for free. Three base sounds was the idea that shaped rest of the track on the initially endless loop with time signature set to 3/4 on which I've layered the higher pitched melody that came out organically. Then I thought that I add some vocal VST which I've tested previously on "Have you Seen an Elf?". I wanted to check how it's perform on more intimate ground of folk song. In my head I had a picture of a medieval inn and a bard starting his musical story. At some point, the picture shifts to a group of heroes travelling through austere, gray and blue, dark and cold places, villages where people in coarse robes work, sometimes rainy, sometimes sunny and green landscapes. Some scenes showing our group from a bird's eye view, slowly and laboriously moving towards the goal. The music ends when they arrive...
Musically, I wanted the initially intimate theme to change, or rather expand, into a symphonic illustration in accordance with the image and the advancing journey. So that, apart from the theme, there would be a depth complementing the image, also more and more distant from the initial location.

The inhabitants of a small town in the Wild West overcome their fears and join their sheriff to defend their homes from bandits.

Little miniature that I've conceived yesterday to welcome new Heavyocity free Foundations VST: Staccato Brass. I also first time used their Nylon Guitar from the same series, so it seems it's a welcome for it also :P

When exercise in mixing bass changes into track ;) It's a kind of medieval/celtic triphop track. I've again returned to Irish Harp. Now there are 3 of them ;)

Imagine.... A medieval castle town stretching around the defensive walls. The girl around 18, with long hair getting out from home. She grabs basket and a shawl and runs outside. It's an early morning, the light is cold and is a bit misty... she goes down the street close to the wall, she has the tight dress with more open bottom. She begin to dance... This is modern dance. Something between classical and jazz with modern additions of head and hands movement. When she dance more and more girls join her dance with simultaneous movements...

It's an anachronism like in "The Knight's Tale" dance scene:
