Born in 1984 in Yerevan, Armenia. From 1999 to 2003 have studied composition with Levon Chaushyan and flute with Evgeny Noninyan at Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory. In 2003 moved to Switzerland, where he has completed his studies in composition with Michael Jarrell, electro-acoustic music with Rainer Boesch and orchestration with Nicolas Bacri at Haute Ecole de Musique de Geneve (MA in composition, 2008). Masterclasses with composers Peter Eötvös and Tristan Murail. Attended seminars with Klaus Huber, Helmut Lachenmann, Emmanuel Nunes, Henri Dutilleux, Tristan Murail, Roland Moser and others.

Co-founded with composer and pianist Artur Avanesov the ensemble of contemporary music AUS-5 (2001-2004). From 2012 to present is a board member of Cultural.am NGO and the artistic director of Tzakhkadzor Art Summer Academy for youth artists. Member of the Association Suisse de Musiciens (2012) and Armenian Composers Union (2013). Co founder and a board member at QuarterTone organization. Artistic director of the Ensemble Assonance. In december 2018 has been appointed vice-rector for academic affairs at the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory.

Among his awards are: First Prize at the "1st Pre-Art international composers competition"(Zürich, 2005), First Prize at "Fluchtwege" composers international competition organized by Musikfestival Bern(2011), Kiefer-Hablitzel Award(Bern, 2011).  Selected composer at International Composer Pyramid(UK/France, 2011) and Protonwerk #3 (Bern, 2013).
