In “I Don’t Want Money (I Just Want to Love)”, Tim Maia makes it clear that love is more important than any material possession.
The chorus, "In a way, I don't want money, I want sincere love," demonstrates a stance against the pursuit of wealth, especially relevant in the 1970s, when Brazil was undergoing major social and cultural changes. Tim Maia reinforces that happiness lies in affection and reciprocity, as highlighted in the verse, "When we love, we don't think about money, we just want to love." This direct and striking message made the song an anthem about the value of love, spanning generations and remaining relevant in concerts and re-recordings.
The melody's blend of samba and soul conveys this passion and joy, making the song a universal statement: for Tim Maia, love is what truly matters, and that's what he celebrates by transforming his personal experience into a message to the world.

Punctual's Right On Time Radio 007 (The Music Essentials Podcast Edition)

The SVGR project and this profile might be silent for a while. I'll still check in now and then, and perhaps drop a mixtape if I'm inspired. But less traction and plays in the last years, due to changes in the Soundcloud algorithms (or the quality of my work), has left all the scouting hours and the time spend on a frequent mixtape production unbalanced.

Few facts about the SVGR project. SVGR is short for 'Svoger' which means 'Brother-in-law' in Danish and is pronounced [Swåger]. I'm from Copenhagen, and have been creating mixtapes for years to share the work of rare musicians, and inspire friends with new deep house tunes. Playing 'Live' I'm one half of the dj duo 'DJ Svoger' and SVGR has been my solo-project. 

SVGR is a private initiative with no commercial strings attached, and thanks for all the listening, following, reposts, comments, and likes through the years.
