Originally debuted on Dixon’s formidable Essential Mix in September, Downtown Party Network ft Egle Sirvydyte dropped ‘Space Me Out’ on Silence Music along with remixes from Musk, Mario Basanov and Hannes Fischer back in 2013. After much critical acclaim and being well-played by many top-djs, the track is now remixed by Downtown Party Network into this sparkling 2014 version. I didn't understand it at the time. I fail to achieve any degree of understanding in the ensuing years, which are three in number. I presume Herb means that inherently you cannot be commercial and artistic. You cannot be commercial and quality. You cannot be commercial concurrent with have a preoccupation with the level of storytelling that you want to achieve. And this I have to reject. I don't think calling something commercial tags it with a kind of an odious suggestion that it stinks, that it's something raunchy to be ashamed of. I don't think if you say commercial means to be publicly acceptable, what's wrong with that?

This is the area I know. But I think innate in what Herb says is the suggestion made by many people that you can't have public acceptance and still be artistic. And, as I said, I have to reject that.

April 2016 Mixtape - Sweet Sunrise Desperation

Up next is a brand new selection of fresh tunes to get you in the right mood. This month offers a somewhat lighter and happier tone than the deeper sound that was actually pretty succesful in April, with some of the best streaming results for yours truly. However, the tone is set uniquely by what quality tunes that are released and deserve our undisputed support.

So this month provides us with a bit more skip in our stride from notabilities such as Sam Feldt, Blonde and Nora en Pure. But also a few house bangers have made the cut this month, for example My Digital Enemy and Riva Starr just to mention a few. Anyway, this will hopefully help you make questionable choices, enjoy life and dance til you drop – all the way through May.

Weekend with Svoger #10

The SVGR project and this profile might be silent for a while. I'll still check in now and then, and perhaps drop a mixtape if I'm inspired. But less traction and plays in the last years, due to changes in the Soundcloud algorithms (or the quality of my work), has left all the scouting hours and the time spend on a frequent mixtape production unbalanced.

Few facts about the SVGR project. SVGR is short for 'Svoger' which means 'Brother-in-law' in Danish and is pronounced [Swåger]. I'm from Copenhagen, and have been creating mixtapes for years to share the work of rare musicians, and inspire friends with new deep house tunes. Playing 'Live' I'm one half of the dj duo 'DJ Svoger' and SVGR has been my solo-project. 

SVGR is a private initiative with no commercial strings attached, and thanks for all the listening, following, reposts, comments, and likes through the years.
