Fresh from his Interference EP, released earlier in the month on Tresor Records, and ahead of his return to the club in March as supporting act for Jeff Mills, we sat down with the zealous Glaswegian Vince Watson to discuss his fierce musicality, affinities with Tresor and diverse array of forthcoming projects.

Puresque is Paul Brtschitsch and Mocca—Paul whose discography stretches back to the mid-90s and is widely regarded for his sensitive sound arrangements both on record and live, and Mocca—real name Michael Kunz—who has been simmering his sonic pallet on the Berlin circuit over the last few years. They met over a mutual love of vinyl and entered the studio together with the desire to create something raw, as removed as possible from the synthetic feel of purely digital production.

Minus Connections October 2013 - Tripmastaz

Italian DJ/producer Roberto Capuano got into electronic music production before he was a teenager, but his first prominent release came in 2009 with the “Got You” 12″ on MKT Records. Capuano’s own style continued to evolve with the developing techno landscape including releases on Elegant Bit, Monique, and elsewhere, and last year he had a blow-up track with “T4,” off his collaborative EP with Markantonio on Analytic Trail. This year he’s released the “Vertigo” EP on Drumcode and the digital “Sweet Willy” on Analytic Trail while enjoying the opportunity to tour in the wake of recent successes.

This week’s mix is a driving set that gets going about a minute in with Antifepn’s “Dig It” and doesn’t let up. Paul Johnson, Blake Baxter, Aphrohead, Frankie Bones, Adam X, and Hyperactive all make appearances alongside newer names. There’s bass, there’s funk, there’s shuffle, and there’s even more cowbell. Avoidant

Avoidant is a 23-year-old Hungarian borned DJ. He started his career as a simple partyface, but he can't get enough from the dance floor: he wanted to be on the stage to make music that makes everyone crazy. In the early years he was influenced mostly by the sub genres of trance, such as Acid trance, Progressive and Hard trance. Later his style was also shaped by Hardcore and Hardtechno and with Industrial Techno's dark atmosphere, such as the sonority of Minimal techno.

Now his music takes inspiration from the latest underground electronic music trends and from the evolving musical innovations, but it's also drawing from the good old Techno sounds. Besides all of the musical influences, movies, video games, experiences from parties and from his acting career, thoughts and conclusions also tend to return in his works.

To cut it short, Avoidant is an absolute representative of the electronic music of his generation, and because he's a man of his dreams, he'll consum what he once dreamed about on the dance floor.
