The Art Vibes Reworks II project started as a crazy idea during summer 2018 and is only now seeing daylight. If you’re following Art Vibes for a while you may have seen the release of the first edition back in September 2017 including 10 reworks of our early catalogue.

Having grown a diverse catalogue over the last five years, it was inevitable to offer a fresh outlook on the tunes people have danced to in many locations around the globe. Being given the chance to work with respected producers to carry out such a project is humbling in many ways.

The 20 reworks presented in this album have been produced by Anatolian Sessions(@anatoliansessions), Arjuna Schiks(@arjunaschiks), Ask (@ask4music)& Midø, Beyond Physical(@beyondphysical), Dizharmonia(@dizharmoniaofficial), Estray(@estray-1), Haze-M(@haze-m), Hrag Mikkel(@hrag-mikkel), Kapoor(@kapoormusic) & Indygo(@indygoxoxo), KeyBe(@key-be) & SEGG(@seggmusic), Max Tenrom(@max-tenrom), Mel7em(@mel7em_official), Menachem 26(@menachem26legacy), Nacim Gastli(@nacimgastli), Pandhora(@pandhora), Rafael Aragon(@rafiralfiro), Savvas(@savvas), Sahalé(@sahaleprods), Valeron(@valeron), and Veytik(@Veytik).

The album is divided in four parts, each part showcasing 5 tracks representing a season of the year. Going from Spring to Winter, through Summer and Fall, the sounds move gracefully from soothing electronica and downtempo to the dynamic sounds of progressive house and melodic techno.

Wether you're having winter in summer or fall in spring, we wish this album suits you well and can be a proper medium for dance, relaxation and art enlightenment.

Augusto Pereira aka Tha_guts is a musical and audio-visual producer and a multi instrumentalist. His project Tha_guts arised in 2018 with the purpose of amplifying his evolution, discoveries and rediscoveries as a musician. His debut album "Plastic Noise" was released by Selo 180 Fonográfico in April 2018 and has a more experimental and eclectic touch. Soon after, in the same year, he launched the EP "Mirrors" on Gop Tun's label, which, with the intention of animating the dance floors, brought him closer to House Music. In "Moog Lovers", which will be released by Goma Rec., Tha_guts puts his feelings in the form of music, traversing the Moog synthesizer in its most varied forms, giving free pass to the imaginary. The EP counterposes House Music's various modulations to the acid notes, chopped vocals and lo-fi atmospheres that are some of the hallmarks of his creative process.

We’ll be taking the pace down a bit today and start slowly into this beautiful summer week! We are excited to welcome on of the founders of our favorite downtempo collective, Heimlich Musik, to our bartender family: Oliver Rottmann mixed a fantastic New York Sour for you.

Oliver is a wonderful storyteller, not only with his studio mixes as it actually was a liveset that amazed us a few months back: his closing set of the Heimlich floor at the Nature Playground festival in 2017 has such an amazing vibe, no question we wanted him to mix a cocktail for Schirmchendrink!

Today, Olivers musical projects focus all on the Heimlich collective. There is a bunch of big shows coming up, such as the Bucht der Träumer Festival, Heimlich Showcases in Munich and Berlin this fall and, of course, further events in the Heimlich homebase Vienna, Austria. Further collabs are planned with Russia’s Leveldva collektive and their friends of Journey to Tarab.

Sounds like busy times ahead of this weeks bartender! Thank you, Oliver, for taking the time to mix this phenomenal sip!

(Story continued from Witchtape #45)
The little witch was already flying for countless hours over an endless desert, steadily following her inner compass into South/South-Eastern direction.  She was starting to feel tired from all that flying.  Her head grew heavy and her sight grew dim.  She had to stop for the night.  Luckily, she was nearing the other side of the desert as she spotted a few shrubs in the distance.  After a while, she saw some patches of grass and a few beautiful giant trees as she flew over the African savanna.  On her right side there was a breathtaking sunset unfolding… it was high time to land and find a safe place to spend the night.  The witch saw no humans which meant the place was safe.  She landed at the foot of a majestic tree, but didn’t have much time to savor the glorious sunset, as a few hungry lions were stealthily approaching her, observing the witch from close quarter, preparing for a decisive lethal strike.  But while looking at the witch, a feeling of tenderness took hold of the lionesses.  Instead of attacking, they walked slowly into the direction of the girl, who started to talk with a soft voice to the queens of the savanna.  This drew the attention of even more lions and soon they were all lying at the feet of the witch, while she played and frolicked with a bunch of lion cubs - who especially loved to play with the girl’s long hair (the hair of a young witch is of an indescribable softness).  The leader of the pride welcomed the young witch and ordered the other animals to prepare a soft bed of grass for the exhausted girl.  And soon the little witch drifted into a blissful sleep in the middle of a circle of lions, whom had never ever experienced a similarly peaceful presence in the savanna… (to be continued in Witchtape #52)

The second batch of remixes for Shunus' Rainburn album gives a new perspective on three classics: 'Tougher Times', 'Sleepwalking', and 'Endless'.

Samaha likes to twist sounds and gave 'Endless' a delightful psychedelic touch. His manipulation of Shunus' vocals is unique and trippy, giving the piece a refreshing dark and acid feel.

The second remix is brought to you by french duo Pandhora. The guys stayed true to the original vocals and re-arranged the instrumentation, looking for that jazzy sunrise mood.

Altriparty & Hypsidia chose a funky and groovy approach to remix 'Sleepwalking', using diverse guitar patterns and swinging organic beats.

HMWL Premiere: Shunus - Endless (Samaha Remix)

The next drink in our glass is served to you by the marvelous Armenian musician Moon’s Voyager. His tracks, in which he gives oriental harmonies a danceable character, deal with the diversity of life in all its manifestations.

The first track on the EP is called "The Blue Shoeshiner" and the outstanding piano melody takes us back to a time when saloons and juke boxes still where a big thing. The two remixes by Samaha and MONKYMAN take up the basic idea of the track and give it their own flavor in a unique way.

The second track with the title "The Bride’s of Moks", tells the story of an ancient Armenian province in all its beauty and grace. Modern electronic revisions were contributed by nutia and Antaares.

As usual we want to thank all artists involved, as well as Kilian Van De Water for the outstanding artwork and Haunted Water for the flawless mastering.
