They are here, all over: sudden, random molecular movements. Invisible and yet extremely effective. Perceptible only to those who turn on things from a peculiar outlook. Now R.i.O. unfolds the second edition of “Risks Issues Opportunities”, bringing interstellar musical developments full of little, yet profound molecule advances. Eight mystical fate spinners, with the muscle to shed some light on unanswered questions, that will stay unanswered after all.
Monolithic, yet deeply fragile compositions, made by terrestrials like Leipzig based producer Syncboy, Pannotia from Sydney, Italy based dusty drum machines lovers Twoonky, Charlotte Simon, known as one half of the art duo Les Trucs from Frankfurt, Berlin mystic’s like Airaboi or Nadia D'Alò of the duo INIT, Brooklyn based “The Thing” housekeeper Willie Burns and Vienna’s symbolist sound poet Bocksrucker. They all created electric signs for the above. Murky analogue prophesiers without prophecy, bringing headway music against the greedy frontier spirit. Hypnotic tones out of a hazy musical outer space. Like a dream that forgot to dream, they wave around with veiled frequencies full of ray, processed through analogue machine power. Music, that is able to in sight humans to an Atget photography. Able to transmit flashes to the firmament, to stars that wander darkling in eternal space. And
yes: to some who listen a sudden physical movement might transpire, despite the fact that all was made without a particular practical value. Art for art's sake. In favor of an alternative to reality. Compellingly haunted by itself. Like stone, that awaits a random molecular movement.

Duo Lucas Brell and Marvin Uhde deliver six fire-powered percussion tracks to Osàre! Editions. Longtime friends and collaborators, the pair channel a liquid medley of drum menace that flips sideways, swiftly pivoting between 85 and 170 bpm. As disorientating as it is formidable, “Purest State Confusion” offers up a fractal prism of ever-shifting beat patterns – an endlessly warping vortex, where the continuum of jungle and drum and bass fuses with a guttural, tribalist sound.

The titular number, a wormhole techno ordeal, builds steadily, layer upon layer. A crystalline dancefloor pleaser, it subverts classic four-to-the-floor with a delayed kick drum that punctuates every 8th beat. Like black oil diffusing in water, the bass creeps in menacingly to 'The Disappearer', in hard and fast contrast with the sharp fluctuations of the amen break. 

Slamming in mercilessly, 'Channelling Bryn Jones' opens up the B-side, its fluttering rhythms joining together with an infectious klaxon melody before the IDM-stylings of ‘Brain Massage' closes out. Purest State of Confusion was recorded at various locations in Leipzig and Berlin, including at the shed-turned-studio, owned by the bass-focused record label Fast Castle. 

Final touches and mixing assistance were performed by Mike Bierbach AKA rødhåd at the WSNWG studios. The pioneering techno producer inflects the record with his staunch taste for aerobic club rhythmics, teasing out the whirling tempos and pointillistic harmonics.

WL//WH is pleased to premiere the closing track, "Introspecteuf", of the forthcoming debut EP "La Lune Brille" via the French label, Human Disease Network, from Rennes-based producer and member of the ÖND collective, Lemon Schaden.

The 4-track EP delivers a heady and intricate hybrid of hypnotic downtempo club rhythms and emotive spacey atmospherics, built on stripped and glitchy techno, chilling Trip-Hop, and tweaked-out Electro with intoxicating resonant Bass tones and crunchy Breakbeat grooves.

It's the story of a road, a never-ending path. The story of a night that grows longer and lasts longer. Along with her story, it goes through a before, an after, and a present moment.
In the beginning, there's the party, in the massive alchemy of a booming culture. A free and unbridled party, in a crossroads of sound, in unison. The rhythms, sometimes tribal, sometimes haunting, blend with a tormented melancholy. Closed in a box, open in a field, the aim is the same: to lose all its elements. Then time stops and space expands. Darkness reigns as the mind gradually ignites until it reaches explosion point. Consciousness vibrates as the body comes alive. The orchestra grows louder and louder until it reaches its peak. Finally, reality returns, a future that hurts. The clock starts ticking again, and the field of vision narrows. The temptation is strong to flee, to hang it all up. One last time, the eyes lift, the moon shines and then it's gone.

When Aljoscha's father placed cassettes of jungle, ambient and drum'n'bass in the hands of his seven-year-old son, he had no idea that he had just passed on to him the soundtrack of his life.

This heritage of multiple textures has been transformed into multiple aliases, including AJO, a character who transcends the boundaries of genres and time.

Signed to labels such as Electric Shapes and Mana Abundance, AJO invokes tribal elements and inter-astral electronic sounds. A primitive, almost animal quest dances between the German producer's synthesizers.

His new album, ‘God Is A Single Infinite Painting That Has No Frame’, adds to his psychedelic ambient and EBM-tinged electrooid explorations. Four remixes by YADÜ, La Serpiente, HyperLili and Théo Muller add an even more contemplative dimension to this opus, released on Ethos Records.
