On the 70th episode of the MindTrip podcast, we welcome one of Brazil's finest techno exports, The Lady Machine. Born in Rio de Janeiro and based in Berlin, Camilla has been involved in the electronic music scene for the last 20 years mainly as a purist vinyl DJ.
Her sound is based on a complex structure of rhythms with dark synth lines and rich textures, while her versatile sets are characterized by her precise mixing technique and exceptional track selection. She is a resident DJ at Berlin's famous Pornceptual nights and you will probably enjoy her sets at a club somewhere close to you if you haven't already. As a producer, you can find her on labels such as Mote Evolver, Token, Symbolism as well as on Unterwegs, her own record label along with Decka.

Inigo Kennedy NYD Mix 2023

Denise Rabe´s experience in the Berlin techno scene as a booker, radio host, promoter and dj since she relocated to German capital drawn by the possibility of a life in music, is reflected in the pragmatic, grounded artist she became and the unique, original voice she’s developed as a producer.

Her approach and work ethic can be seen expressed on every release she’s done under her label, Rabe, where her music is matched with an equal amount of care, thought and work, in the vessels that contain it, within a coherent aesthetic and vision that informs music, artwork and presentation equally.

This has allowed her to recruit the artist who´s work resonates with her sensibility and can be heard in the remixes Rrose, Shxcxchcxsh, Headless Horseman, among others, have done for her releases on her and other labels.

Imprints such as Mutewax, who released her first 12’’ in 2015, ARTS where she quickly became one of the label´s staples and Stroboscopic Artifacts where she published ‘’Manifesto’’ in 2019, are clear reference points that describe her career and its development. 

Rabe’s particular inclination to sparse industrial soundscapes, gothic aesthetics, driven grooves under hooks that hypnotize as much as they distinguish, have propelled her 10 year career across stages all over the US, Asia and Europe, as well as the clubs that represent the apex of techno world wide such as Berghain and Tresor.

The Colombian artist, currently based in Barcelona, brings over 20 years of unwavering dedication to electronic music and club culture. She remains a recognized standard-bearer, celebrated not only for her productions but also for her DJ sets, where she unfolds her broad, rich, and comprehensive vision of techno with vivacity, never conforming to any conventional sound.

Known for her raw, hypnotic and driving techno, Adriana has released on labels known to nurture this sound, such as Spanish labels PoleGroup and Semantica, as well as Stroboscopic Artefacts, Modularz, and her label, Grey Report.

Su estilo mezcla elementos de techno profundo y ambiental con ritmos contundentes y líneas de bajo que crean una atmósfera hipnótica e intensa en sus sets. Oscar Mulero is a techno producer and DJ from Madrid, in charge of successful record labels Pole Recordings and Warm Up Recordings. He began his career as a DJ at the end of the 80’s in Madrid, in the most experimental clubs of the city and soon ended up playing at the legendary Spanish club New World. In 1996, as a part of famous Sonar festival, the name of Oscar Mulero appeared among the list of international underground djs such as Richie Hawtin, Laurent Garnier and Jeff Mills. Since 1998, Oscar Mulero has released four studio albums and over 30 EPs on the labels like Tresor, Token, Semantica and his very own Warm Up and Pole Recordings. Beside this, he has developed a fully audiovisual experience with his “Light & Dark AV Set”, tested live in some of the best festivals around. His alter ego,Dr. Smoke also gained strength during this period as a showcase of Oscar’s open and eclectic vision as a music selector, moving deep into territories such as electro, dub and IDM.

His picks for Bassiani Podcast are pretty much what you might expect from the techno heavyweight, such as Oscar Mulero - an atmospheric, dynamic and moody compositions that keep the hype and energy from the beginning till the very end. Following an intense first 30 minutes, the latter half sinks into even more noisy and aggressive staff capturing Mulero’s special approach to techno aesthetic.
