Following the first release, Artefact Records proudly presents the second installment of our three-part series celebrating 14 years of quality house music. This release features five dynamic tracks from an impressive lineup of artists. Leading the charge is 84bit, the most popular house duo from Montenegro, delivering a track with a classic funky club feel. Joining them is Macedonian veteran house producer Angel Rize, whose contribution is an afro house banger that is sure to ignite the dance floor. UK-based Soul Equation, a regular on our label, offers a classic upbeat piano-driven house track that embodies the spirit of feel-good house music.
Adding to the diverse array of sounds is Brazilian house DJ and producer Gus What, who brings a minimal house vibe to the release, providing a smooth and sophisticated groove. Rounding out the collection is German jacking house maestro Pc-Pat with a proper jacking house track that will keep the energy high. Each track showcases the unique talents and styles of these international artists, contributing to the rich tapestry of sounds that define Artefact Records. During the late 90's, Twilo was a NY institution. Hosting the legendary residency of Sasha & Digweed as well as Junior Vasquez's weekly residency during this time. There were two booths at Twilo - one which was built for Junior which was perched above the crowd and one for the guests which was just elevated above the floor on one end of the club.

Josh would embark on a residency at Twilo during this time that became an Ovum Recordings night which allowed him to showcase many of the artists releasing on the label. 

On this night the opening set was from DJ Dozia. This was also a special evening as it was the release party for Josh's mix compilation Profound Sounds Volume 1. During this time, the label was distributed by Sony Music worldwide and this was a big event having Josh playing in the labels home city. There were various press requests including a request to film. This was quickly shut down as there was no video to be taken inside the club (How times have changed!). Josh took over the decks and at this point in the evening legendary sound man Steve Dash would open up the system. As the headliner took over, it was like the room transformed. I can still envision the circular light that sat above the dance floor as well as the huge disco ball all coming to life as the set started to build. 

Well turn up the volume and prepare to dive into two hours of bliss as Mr. Josh Wink takes you on a journey showing his true musical diversity and understanding why many always called him the DJ's DJ.

Ovum Night @ Twilo NYC -  Josh Wink(7 - 24 - 99)

One of the definitions for artefact is : something made or given shape by man, such as tool or work of art. On the other hand, man is a artefact himself designed for traveling through space & time, through life & its experiences.

Every journey has a beginning. Our started as a hazy need to help creating pieces of music that will live on. Creating soundwaves that will delicately pierce the eardrums, carrying the sonancy from the deepest parts to the highest edges of the techier side of house music. 

We believe in the trinity of great sound, deep vibes & beautiful music. We believe in artistic freedom, never limited to one genre, always reflecting the current movements of the clubbing scene while praising the roots & origins of today's electronic music.
