Dub Inversion is a personal take on Dub music by Andrea Deplano, working under his two aliases: L-3P and Ness. Both identities meet here in a conversation across tempos and textures, where Dub’s deep-rooted essence is reimagined through minimalistic structures and spatial experimentation.

From high energy rhythms to slower, more spacious grooves, the release explores delay, reverb, and repetition with a raw yet refined approach. This is not a nostalgic homage, Dub Inversion is a transformation. A split self reuniting through bass, space, and pulse.

The first track on 1FFEM001 is the rising star of experimental electronic grime and dubstep music, L U C Y.

The Bristol born producer now based in London has been producing for 6 years and in that time has honed her unique sound and stamped her authority across the underground and is recognised across different scenes for her original electronic sound. Having played at Bandulu, Fabric & Motion to name a few as well as Keep Hush apperances she is also on the opening night line-up for 13 Weeks of Flava D at XOYO alongside Flava D, Skepsis & Sharda. She’s supported artists such as Swamp 81 boss Loefah, Bandulu’s Khan & Neek and Hi5 & Boofy as well as Murlo. The Bandulu crew have been supporting her music regularly.

With releases on Trapdoor, Astral Black and Femme Culture she also won 2017 the South-West heats of Red Bull’s Riddim Rally in 2017 as well as competing earlier this year in the Beat Boss Qualifiers and hosted various music workshops for Red Bull, Apple and Saffron Records.

Recent Articulate Artist Agency signees Retrospect delve into the depths and bring the bass bins from the warehouse along to the carnival to create a fusion reminiscent of how the scene began. Three top draw originals are accompanied by remixes from UK Bass one-to-watch Fork and Knife, 140 virtuoso Kotei and lastly UK Garage and 2 Step up-and-comer Limita.

It seems like only yesterday we were passing the 5000 follower mark and releasing our special remix giveaway. 6 months on and we've smashed another milestone, with the 6000 barrier passed, so to say a massive thank you, we charged the fresh talent on the roster to create some tasty pieces for your earholes!

What we've got here is a melting pot of bassy goodness - Nekst has created a bouncing Bass House crossbreed whilst Fork and Knife has brought his uniquely awesome Funky/Grime flavours to his track '57% Burnt'. Straight after the success of his EP 'Nonsense', J. Kong has stepped with his track 'RT', another slick take on his Dubstep stylings, and newcomer CA$TLE brings a cheeky instrumental Grime piece to close out the release with a bang.

Articulate Sound are a midlands based, digital label that are at the forefront of the UK underground bass scene. Set out to give undiscovered, upcoming artists a platform and foundation to showcase their talent, and to look for individual styles and sounds you won’t hear anywhere else. Articulate specialise in UK Bass, UK Funky and Breaks however covering all spectrums of the scene, from Bassline to Grime they have it covered.

Founded in 2015 as a promotional Soundcloud channel, they then went on to release a succession of free compilations, featuring artists from all over the world such as Landis LaPace and Cellardore to name a few. In the closing months of 2016, they then took it a step further and released a huge joint collaboration with renowned promoter, distributor and publisher Pack London. Although only being a free channel, Articulate Sounds releases have received support from the likes of BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 1Xtra, Rinse, Represent and Radar amongst many others.

Along with releasing over 140 tracks for over 70 different artists, Articulate Sound have now also launched their own events, showcasing their extensive roster and some of the best upcoming artists in the underground scene, with TC4, Darkzy and Murder He Wrote headlining thus far.

In 2017, Articulate grew even stronger, hitting number 1 in the UKG and Breakbeat charts with their debut official release by Daze Prism, receiving support from the likes of My Nu Leng, DJ EJ and many others and even getting called “one of the most consistent curator channels in modern broken and bass music” by Juno Download. Articulate then went onto hit number 1 again for Doc Zee’s debut release “Feel Free”, which has since been featured in the likes of DJMag and Dummy. Finishing off 2017 Articulate released their final EP of the year titled “PINK GUN” by Ivo and went onto be called “One of our standout labels of 2017 for a top draw project” by Juno Download themselves. 2018 has been no calmer for Articulate, already releasing Spectrum’s debut single “Resonate” in January aswell as having releases lined up for the next 12 months that are sure to cook up a storm, it’s fair to say Articulate are not a label to sleep on.
