The Vision Statement

An open letter to the President,

To his Excellency President Jacob Zuma, Deputy President, and the National Executive of the Republic of South Africa,

It is an honour, and a privilege to have this letter be read by you. It is also without doubt the most challenging experience to be a citizen of this continuously evolving complex country. This country fits into a complex world that we are all trying to be part of. It is especially difficult when your roots in democracy are only about 20 years old.

I write to you in the full expectation that you are leaders that value opinion, and relish ideas which can assist in the elimination of poverty, inequality and add to the activation of a full and fair Democratic state based on our constitution (promulgated on 18 December, 1996) in Sharpeville.

My name is Radile Mokone. I returned to Sharpeville on May 2013. The team I represent is Artrest. I am the Chief Marketing Officer of this internationally well received movement.

The National Development Plan has found a home in our community. It came to our attention when Honourable Cyril Ramaphosa announced that every plan needed to move this country forward is in the National Development Plan. When we heard this we decided to act. We marched to the Sedibeng Mayors Office and requested a hard copy of the plan and the constitution of the Republic. After much confrontation the dust settled and we were given a copy of the NDP and a copy of the Constitution.

After reading and understanding the policy, I felt obligated to immediately share its contents with as many South African citizens as possible. Weeks and months went by as we read it aloud at our humble art gallery Artrest. Our team felt it was our responsibility to arrange for studio time, and record the vision as an address to the world. We secured studio time with Spirit World Records and successfully recorded and mastered the vision statement and have been freely distributing it as part of an attempt to win it the broad support it needs so it can be realised......
