We are the ripples
in the waters of time
and sometimes sublime
sometimes turbulent
we mimic what love brings
from the heart swells
of our ancestors
we attempt to define
all the loves
following their designs
that they shared
but love has grown better
in ways time can't treasure
Our civilized endeavors
brought us closer together
ancient love was tether
or a chain that enslaved
pleasing only the aggressor
men were not well behaved
Neanderthal Hammers
chose a woman and slammed her
not to kill her but own her
dragging her to his cave
In the old days the men all
took so many wives
and also slave women
but sharing left them deprived
and sheiks all had harems
to fill up their bed
but if one would displease them
she would just wind up dead
Love has had a hard journey
down roads many disparage
till humans found closeness
in the sweet bonds of marriage
though there are those among us
who prefer to just mingle
taking new women weekly
Happy to remain single
and of course their are men
who take just what they want
predators on mission
leaving horrors that Haunt.
Ted Bundy, Charles Manson
Jack the Ripper and more
all used women like Kleenex
and left them dead on the floor.

But love is enduring
after all of these men
faced their own death's a curing
for their cruel acts to end

Savor love when it finds you
it's a beautiful gift
years ago it would find you
abused and dismissed

But women found rights
as they marched and they suffered
for the dreams of equality
among men, a buffer

yet love knows there's yet
many more miles to go

the Future holds promise
and perhaps it's history will show
We've become smoother ripples
in the waters of time
from the heart swells
of our ancestors
equal in body and mind
from the loves
that they shared
with a whole new design
where love has grown better
in ways time can't treasure
through more civilized endeavors
bringing all of us forever
perfection....

How Would You Make The Call?
It was the window or the 1000 degrees of heat
melting the nylon stockings to her legs
and her dress bursting into tiny blue flames
and her hair reeking as it crisped beyond
any curling iron damage she'd ever known.

Sure her dress would blow up
and she would look so ridiculous in mid-air
but the heat, the god awful heat
melting her barrettes to her skull
panties like hot glue around her waist
molten metal in her brassiere straps
"Please God forgive me? she begged
as the window burst first
and then she followed shortly after
taking an early flight from her short life
with a long wail of .............

" I love you....Mom and Dad........

Tears streaming as
she plummeted 110 stories
to land with a wet crump below
along with hundreds of others falling
in twisting spirals to
the waiting avenues of death.

How would you have made the call?
as you stood poised on
the edge of that blast furnace.
Nothing to go back to,
nothing to look forward too,
but emptiness
and a long drop into eternity.
Who would you have called?
and what would you have said?
in the mere seconds left
as the cell phone melted
into a soft blob
even as you spoke.

The Hollow-Days Of Addiction.
(A Christmas message for all )

Christmas has come back again
For the third year in a row
And we haven't seen 
our precious son
Ever since he had to go
To jail then off to rehab
Then violating 
two probation's
the court ordered no contact
So we've had no conversations
Cause he'd abused 
his Mom so much
Leaving her soul terrified
and came after me so angrily
Every time that he got high
we both tried in 
every way we could
But then we had to say goodbye....


Christmas on drugs and alcohol 
Was never a good mix
Hanukkah plus cruel addictions
Just brings candle sadly lit
Santa Claus and faith in God
Are not enough to bring a fix
Only he can save himself
No one else can heal his needs
That have made both our hearts bleed
while he spends his hollow days
Struggling to find ways to succeed.


He'll spend another Christmas
In sober living all alone
Far away from both his parents
Knowing that he can't come home
And it cuts us deeply to the bone
Cause our tough love is no fun
But drugs and alcohol have stolen
Our most precious son
Until he proves that he is cured
and his addictions are all done.

So if you too are like our son
Suffering the same afflictions
I hope this poem moves you to flee
Back to the true life 
you've been missing
Because those who 
love you can't survive
Living with the endless friction
Of your lies and thefts 
And thier hopes left swept
Underneath your opposition
Your loved ones all must separate
themselves from your positions
Of your loving highs even as they cry
Over your tragic conditions
Leaving you alone 
while they sit at home
Praying for you and each one wishing
That you will give all that you've lost
Some serious recognition
Before you end up lying 
Under a marble inscription
that leaves them all 
Without your love
Another victim of addiction
so many others just like you 
Have faced Death's Benedictions....
