The song emerged during a period of writer’s block for Berninger – a challenge he partially overcame with the help of Mary Shelley’s classic novel Frankenstein.  “When I feel stuck, I’ll often grab a book off the shelf just to get some words in my head, and the first two pages of Frankenstein ended up triggering ‘Your Mind Is Not Your Friend', Berninger recalls.  “The book starts off with the narrator on a voyage near the Arctic Circle, and that image of being adrift helped me to write about feeling disconnected and lost and lacking in purpose.  Once I started confronting that strange, blurry panic of not having ideas, everything began to crack open a bit.” 

In recognition of the song’s mental health theme, The National is making a donation to TinyChanges.org, the charity established in the memory of Frightened Rabbit lead singer Scott Hutchinson by his family.  “Scott made tiny changes that had a big impact,” they write on the charity’s website.  “His honesty and openness about his own mental health inspired people from all walks of life.”       4AD

The nail feels differently than I thought it would. Its bulkiness is surprising considering how minimal the piercing end is. The weight of the hammer makes this easy, until I have to swing it. 

The distance between the hands must be why this one looks so big and the other so small. The screams of terror are deafening, especially the feet. You would think I could stop swinging.

Trust in Julie,

A failed experiment with the new Suno feature. The "persona" was saved from a song which was sung by a duet (alternating male and female voices) I did not think that it would allow me to get a duet, random ocurrence only in my experience with Suno. I was right, the use of a persona produced a female vocal only. 
However, I found I liked this song and the arrangement. I don't know if I am getting into a rut with the AI but a few of my latest offerings have been very similar in their production. I am seeing a minimalist beginning to the song with the last minute or so seeing lots of magic. More instruments, vocals with a difference and a crescendo before the short ending going back to the same minimalist style.
I like it, maybe I communicate that to the AI and it is presenting it back to me,But do listen to the end, even if you jump by clicking on the wave form.
Oh BTW, the persona should have been a male/female duo, I called Just-In-Love. I am having fun naming these for Suno's use.

little draft ....  an improvized dialog of trumpet & trombone, each blown on my Akai EWI USB, on a simple cyclic backing created with vst and a midi tool with the nice name "modal random" for the keyboard :-) ... Actually, it's always about the “intersection” that decides on dissent or consensus. However, each fact in itself already changes its value due to the frame of reference of the respective observer.  It becomes crazy when those involved in the exchange completely abandon the basis of “facts” and allow themselves to be guided only by emotions.
