Wir wollen diese Welt erklären
aus Angst vor unsrer Sterblichkeit.
Wir denken uns in fremde Sphären
und opfern dafür Lebenszeit.
Wir lernen Götter zu verehren
und beten auch noch Götzen an.
Wir lassen uns ganz leicht bekehren
zu Eitelkeit und Größenwahn.
Wir lernen an das Wort zu glauben
und die Welt wird plötzlich klein.
Die Welt in eine Form zu schrauben
scheint Sinn von jedem Satz zu sein.
Wie konnten wir uns so verlaufen
in der Gedankenmärchenwelt.
Man kann Unsterblichkeit nicht kaufen,
nicht mit Gebeten, nicht mit Geld.
Man kann das Leben nur genießen,
nur hier und jetzt lebendig sein.
Doch wir sitzen in Verliesen
und jeder stirbt für sich allein.
Statt das Leben zu genießen
bewundern wir den hohlen Schein,
reden dumm von Paradiesen
und auf dem Grab steht stolz ein Stein.
