Calyx & TeeBee BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix (No Voice Overs)

I recently found a whole bunch of mixes I did between 1992 and 1997 and have started the long process of ripping the cassettes to mp3.
As I work through them in no particular order I’ll put them up for download.
Remember the sound quality isn’t great as they were all recorded on belt drive decks through a mixer with no EQ and committed to cassette on a shabby home stereo…But what the hell, it’s that authentic 90s sound through and through.

This one is from 1993. This mixing is terrible but the tunes are great. The track list is lost in the mists of my memory I’m afraid but maybe one of you can ID all the tracks.

Satl - Exclusive Drum&BassArena Mix

There are Old Skool mixes and nights, there are nights and mixes where you can go and hear brand new music. But there's a time in the first decade of this century which often gets overlooked for tunes, bar the odd one played here and there.  

It also happens to be the time when I had a vinyl addiction far greater than my bank balance could really cope with.

This mix is a celebration of the tunes from that period, from 2002-2009 in this one, all played from lovely, lovely vinyl. It's also the longest mix I have ever recorded I think, enjoy :)

Journey Through The "Middle Skool"

There is beauty amidst the spaces in between. Phaeleh has been releasing music since 2008 and throughout this time has produced three albums. On the eve of his latest release it seems somewhat fitting to reflect on his contributions to electronic music. The discourse of his music has seen him veer right and left between uk bass culture and somewhat cinematic soundscapes. Never standing still Phaeleh has taken influence from a range of genres and continues to explore the realm of possibilities within sound. Titled "Illusion Of The Tale" he speaks bluntly about the roots and origins of the release. 

“The album title is my polite way of saying we live in a world of bullshit and bullshitters. Essentially I feel we all live in a constant lie, whether it be our Facebook profile pictures, the need to present our lives as perfect, with good looking partners, intelligent children, the perfect job etc."

Ahead of the release of the record on the 14th of October we asked him to contribute to our Monday mix series as he delves deep through the depths of his record collection.
