I went to my first psytrance party in 1996 and was instantly captivated by the sound and magical effect of the music. I immediately began collecting albums and going to as many gatherings in the area I lived as I possibly could. What can I say – like so many before and after me, psytrance changed my life.

In 2002, after traveling for a number of years, I settled in Cape Town, the beautiful trance Mecca of Southern Africa where I played my first DJ set at a small party a few months later. Despite having never been behind a set of decks before, my 5 hour set was described as “Quite epic!” 

Toward the end of 2003 I took time off to focus on family matters, during which time I continued to follow the psytrance scene locally and internationally. I still collected as much music as I could, slowly filtering through the huge amount of tunage that continues to be released on countless labels. I practiced mixes and different styles of mixing and over a couple of years eventually developed my ‘sound’. 

So, what can you expect from Tinkerbels? 
An intelligent, hint of old school yet completely nu-school, full power, melodic, funky, uplifting, hard yet fun, trippy, mind-expanding, psychedelic, shamanic musical journey, from the very first note… right to the last.  
You won’t find any jarring sounds or annoying breaks, just an un-relentless build in intensity, emotion and the urge to jump even higher with each passing second. 

After studying classical piano for 10 years earlier in life, my husband (also a professional musician) encouraged me to expand my knowledge in synthesis… so I studied Sound Design through Berkley College of Music.

Over the last few years we have been devoted to playing smaller parties on the stunning Garden Route on the Cape South Coast, helping the still young scene grow and flourish, and for smaller organizations based in Cape Town.

Mystical Eye is a Psytrance producer living in Strasbourg (France). Also involved in Aywaken (Dub) and Cosmostep (Psytrance), and more recently in Solar Punks (Hi-Tech), the project become concrete in 2020 with the release of
