Beautiful story and a fitting tribute to what was obviously a princess among rats...

This is an ode to a rat i had last winter. My girlfriend found a rat in the hall that had escaped from the coils of our neighbor's snake. She became our pet, and we had many happy days playing with her. She survived (besides the snake) an infection, a brain tumor, eye removal surgery - she actually died of panic during the surgery and was resuscitated by our veterinarian (Me: I didn't know it was possible to resuscitate a rat!" Vet: "Neither did I!") before dying in a bizarre and supernatural way [you wouldn't believe me if I told you]. She always seemed somehow grateful for our love, and once she even stopped along her scurrying to listen intently to a whole tune... i think it may have been this song. Though we gave her a beautiful funeral at sunset, I don't know if she really left us. Listen for the sound at the end: it resembles a squeak noise she always used to make.. and I don't know where it came from :O ! Please enjoy this song and the story that accompanies it.
