The MusiCollective is a community of people that get behind each others' projects, for example by helping with songwriting, arrangements, recording and production. An old song I wrote and recorded a couple of years ago, in an attempt to write a Taylor Swift-esque song following pretty much the same chords as "Blank Space". Listening back, I cringe hard at the spoken bits and slightly over the top pop vibe, buuuuut needed a "new" (unreleased) song to add to our monthly The MusiCollective (TMC) playlist, and didn't manage to write something else in time, so here it is.

I was counting pictures on the wall
It made me feel like nothing at all
Like just one of a million 

I was thinking of all the things I shared
Feeling like nobody cared
I’m just one of a billion 

Where do I go from here
I’ve been counting hearts
But does anybody hear mine

The walls feel so paper thin
I’ve been screaming out
But can anybody get in 

I remember what it felt like 
when a song kept me up at night
Like it was one in a million

And every strum seemed to hold
Stories yet to be told
They all felt like one in a billion 

Where do I go from here
I’ve been counting hearts
But does anybody hear mine

Knowing that I have it
