Born and raised in East Palestine, Ohio, Kennedy drew strength from her single mom. Have faith, be kind, and be daring. In 2007, Kennedy was one of a handful of women to graduate from the Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. She double majored in Political Science and Spanish. While there, Kennedy sailed from Maryland to Maine with no electricity or modern instruments. She also volunteered in Kenya where she taught local tribes how to plant, irrigate and learn to be self-sufficient. Later, she went on to reach the summit of Mt Kilimanjaro in the dark, by herself.
