When Mark Van Doren, the American poet and teacher, wrote his famous work, "Our Lady  Peace" in 1943, he couldn't have imagined the concept of rock'n'roll,  let alone that a Canadian rock group would adopt his title  for their name. Consisting of Raine Maida, Duncan Coutts, Steve Mazur  and Jason Pierce. Our Lady Peace is one of the most successful bands in  Canada today. The band has sold over 5 million albums worldwide, won  four JUNO Awards and ten Much Music Video Awards  - one of the most MMVA's ever awarded to any artist or group.

Newfoundland Singer/Songwriter Adam Baxter has been considered one of the hardest working singer/songwriters that has graced the stages of St. John's. Luckily for him, the hard work has all paid off. 

In 2011, Baxter joined the ranks of Hey Rosetta's, Tim Baker, by winning the O'Reilly's Open Mic Competition, and taking home the grand prize - a brand new 2012 FIAT 500. In early 2012, Baxter's group Tall Tales received the prestigious award of "Newfoundland Herald's", annual Band to watch in 2012. In the same year, his music was featured in the local documentary, Just Himself: The Story of Don Jamieson. He has also been fortunate enough to share the stage with artists such as The Arkells, Andrew James O'Brien, The Pathological Lovers, Today I Caught The Plague, King Nancy, Kim Wempe, Chris Kirby, Tim Chaisson, Andy Brown, The Trans Atlantic Zodiac Ensemble, and many more. To boot, he has a string of self released albums, and innumerable days touring Eastern Canada on self-planned tours; proof of a very hard working, well established artist. Having accomplished all of this, his greatest pride still resides in organizing and hosting one of the most successful and longest running singer/songwriters showcases in St. John's. His Epic Song Writers Series has showcased some of the fastest rising Canadian singer/songwriters, and nurtured much young talent.

Baxter hails from the Annapolis Valley in Nova Scotia, and holds a Bachelor of Music and a Bachelor of Music Education from Memorial University. After spending almost a decade living in St. John's, Baxter recently relocated to Springdale, Newfoundland, to share his love of music through his new position as music teacher, at Indian River High School. Drawing inspiration from his students, Baxter is more enthusiastic than ever to hone his craft.
