Yraki reworks Jeph Vanger’s ‘Xtasis’,bending it through glimmering synth, exploding bass and moving percussion. The exciting rework of Xtasis is featured on Jeph Vangers Cyclothyia EP, which is to be released on a new London based label, Inklingroom. Inklingroom begun as parties and a radio show, cross pollinating multi-disciplinary art, music and dance in an intriguing way.

Captivating many through their live performances throughout the Australian scene, Polito have installed their expression through their debut LP Collapse Phase. We premiere ‘Signal‘ which incapsulates the mere darker, broken beat side of the quartet, rustling through acid tones and squelchy sounds that provide an incentive to dance.

Polito is a collaboration between musicians Robert Downie and Finnian Langham, and dancers Arabella Frahn-Starkie and Hillary Goldsmith. Like their live performances, Polito have created something memorable and this is only a glimpse into what is to be released on Butter Sessions September 22.

The “Ponzu” is the new LP from Scottish MC/producer, Tzusan, out now featuring Cappo, Verbz, Billy Got Waves, Iona Lee, Lori Asha, Philomenah, and Ed Scissortongue. It is the first solo project from the Edinburgh artist following a string of collaborative releases with the likes of Shogun, Sonnyjim, Manga Saint Hilare, CLBRKS, and more.

Short Story

This place is sparse. It holds an uneasy feeling through its gravitational pull. The dense blackness with the backdrop of glittering dead lights make me queasy. I follow nothing but an instinct and the squelch of sand beneath my feet over the dunes to the horizon. The light of the stars bounce closer and closer, lighting the way to more darkness and a door that shudders like a mirage. A door?. What is this door? Why is there a door? I draw closer and and begin to see the sand reform back to the stars and the stars back to sand. I push, no fuck its a pull to open….. A land beyond.

Volume 4 of our As If. No Mixtapes! series we sought out KP Transmission. Her exploration of a wide range of genres is unique. With viscerally provocative dark, unusual soundscapes, paired with unsettling rhythms and experimental bass, she relinquishes her inner punk, which she also lets out through her band Fanny Kaplan. Independently releasing a vast array of tracks via her Soundcloud and Bandcamp pages, along with limited cassettes, vinyl, and digital releases via Klammlang Tapes, Nanzlo Records and Ciel Blue et Petis Oiseax Records, KP Transmission captures the rawness of experimental music, in a confident manner that creates what we could call her own sub genres.

The compilation features a curation of intriguing sounds from the likes of KMRU, Patricia Wolf, Heavy Cloud and many more, with 100% of the profits going to Refuge, a charity helping women and children escape a life of abuse and violence.
