We are really excited to finally release the second instalment of Philanthrobeats' EP series. This time round we have invited three producers from outwith our resident pool, and the result has been awesome: a three-track mixture of trippy, ethereal sounds - sometimes disjointed - that brilliantly compliment the hazy (and uncommonly hot) Scottish summer we've been lucky enough to have this year. Let this EP's sounds warm your soul as the sun takes a bow and makes way for a wet and windy winter.

This EP, as per usual, is totally FREE to listen to and download. However, we are always accepting donations towards our projects at Philanthrobeats, so any generosity - big or small - would be greatly appreciated.

MermaidS (and the associated DJ due Mount Heart Attack) have been regular fixtures of Philanthrobeats' music choice since our humble beginnings. We are delighted to include 'La Beurre' one of their slow but warm and buttery creations in this EP release.

Continually active since 2007, Mr Tuner is now a stalwart of the Glasgow music scene, and has DJed, produced and promoted events under an ever-growing array of aliases. His latest project is called Handpicked and boasts a collection of Cassette-Only releases, drawing from the untapped hip-hop talent of his local peers, and those from much further afield. His contribution, aptly named 'Money', is a bassy and slightly stoned tribute to a 2005 release we all recognise and love (to hate?).

Also on this release, we welcome Comrade Massie, yet another producer with many aliases under his belt. This glitchy and disjointed LA-beat inspired production is one of those tracks that totally works because it doesn't seem like it should work at all. Perfect.

May 28th sees the 5th anniversary of Hubert Daviz' masterpiece "Proceduri De Rutina" from 2010, which has only been available as a limited LP (500 copies pressed).  To celebrate this day Hubert has asked some of his producer friends to revisit the album:  Dexter, FloFilz, Tbrck, Max Graef, Wun Two and Hulk Hodn (who also did the snippet mix). On May 28th 2015 we will re-release "Proceduri De Rutina" as a double LP (original album + remixes). Stay tuned!

7 albums and hundreds of gigs all over the continent, the ambassadors of Electro HipHop in Europe largely contributed to establish its codes since 15 years.
Composed of more than a dozen of colorful characters, the puppet band from outerspace joined the gang with one aim : invading the World and dictate their vision of HipHop : groovy, timeless and terribly efficient !
On the track “Trippin’” we can hear : Mr.Maloke, a loudmouth know-it-all, but very slick with his wordplay. Self-acclaimed leader. Ryno : willing to protect the crew by all means necessary. Usually quiet, so when he do speaks he sounds very wise. Snuggles the bunny: He’s hard to calm down. He’s into all momentary pleasures, especially when they have to do with nylon stockings.
