Shoreline

This song was heavily inspired by Alan Bennett's play-adapted-to-film "The History Boys" (and specifically the character of Posner, whose quotation provides the title for the song.) It's essentially a song about watching someone struggle through something that you can't help them with; that feeling of helplessness as you watch them hurting and have to stand by--and at the same time knowing that the experience for both of you is something valuable, even if it hurts in the moment.

Special note: this is actually the first original song I've ever composed and shared with the masses. I hope you all enjoy listening to it as much as I've enjoyed creating it! I aim only to get better from here. :)
