My father's hometown is an area with a lot of snow, and I spent some time there in the winter when I was a child.
It was then that I first experienced the feeling of silence when it snowed.

That sense of silence as I walked through the falling snow may have been the catalyst for my current work in ambient music.

This music is dedicated to those snowy, beloved winter nights.

Murmet [part 1]

“Leaving together, Leaving apart” is one of 6 pieces I recorded using my 8th mosesa
In November 2018. I have since made several other models,, but recently rediscovered this album in my files.

It anticipates many things that I am doing currently, namely playing and responding to overtones and instrument body resonances. Tuning is by ear as well as all playing. I tuned the instrument to resonate with my wishes when playing.

The mosesa 8 is composed to 2 guitar strings, a cello bridge resting on a thin, patched and pressed wooden bowl. I used a DPA microphone, external guitar pedals and internal Logic Pro filters to create the sound that you hear.

The emotional background for these pieces, “Leaving together, Leaving apart” was the coming and goings between myself and one of my children of college age. I felt so much joy at being together, then sorrow with leaving.
The music is not illustrative, and I think focuses mostly on the joy of relating each moment with another.

'Whatever comes to pass
time will file the time
and this extraordinary wait.
The drama and the epic
the events that befall
the beginners
invoke glory and rage.
Because of necessity
they happen to live
because of belongingness
they happen to become.
There’s no difference between
starting and starting over for
what was or wasn’t done
cycles with the stringency
of a climate loop.
And the silence of hesitation
saturates the air condensing
inside the mask
accelerating the dew point.
It muffles this new normal.
Beginners challenge
the so called tragedy
of the time horizon
in which people can’t imagine
the suffering of the humans
of the future and
nothing much gets done
on their behalf.
Beginners are seamless
and they care.
Some of them give in.'

'Qualunque cosa accada
il tempo archivierà il tempo
e questa straordinaria attesa.
Il dramma e l’epopea
gli eventi che accadono
a chi comincia
suscitano gloria e rabbia.
Per necessità
succede di vivere
per appartenenza
succede di divenire.
Non c’è differenza tra
iniziare e ricominciare perché
ciò che è stato o non è stato fatto
si ripete con l’intransigenza
dei cicli climatici.
E il silenzio dell’esitazione
satura l’aria che condensa
all’interno della mascherina
accelerando il punto di rugiada.
Attutisce questa nuova normalità.
Coloro che iniziano sfidano
la cosiddetta tragedia
dell’orizzonte temporale
per cui le persone non riescono
a immaginare la sofferenza
degli esseri umani del futuro e
poco viene speso a loro favore.
Coloro che iniziano sono senza soluzione
di continuità e a loro importa.
Alcuni si arrendono.'

Я попала в зависимость от тебя.
Когда голубь пропел свою тихую-тихую песню,
гуляя по подоконнику медленным плаванием.
Я попала в глубокую зависимость,
видя: деревья в окне всё ещё стоят.
Я попала в это прекрасное место.
Чтобы встретиться с тобой сегодня вечером.

И ни у кого не спросив, как туда добраться,
я вышла из этой двери, сжимающей меня
до размеров моей комнаты.
И ни у кого не спросив дороги,
я поплыла через цветные волны,
ожидая своей остановки.
Своей остановки — когда я увижу тебя.

Земля!

INTERDEPENDENCE (pidgin-version)

I got dependence to you.
When the dove sang its quiet, quiet song,
walking along the windowsill by slow swimming.
I got deeply dependence, 
seeing: the trees in the window are still standing.
I got in this beautiful place.
To have meet you today's evening.

And without asking anyone how to get there,
I stepped out of that door, squeezing me
to the size of my room.
And without asking anyone the way
I swam through the color waves, 
waiting for my stop.
My stop - when I see you.
