“for a mix series i love to dive deep in my collection and play tracks that would normally be too deep or difficult to play during a dj-set in a club.

i wanted to make a mix that would be a representative snapshot of what i am really into at the moment. deep, heady music, sometimes intense, melancholic, but always rolling and forward pushing.” 

entering the deep kaleidoscopic world of human space machine. 

based in the netherlands, human space machine is a dj and producer who made his production debut in 2018 and has quickly become a go-to artist for his swirling psychedelic records that bring together functional techno grooves, progressive delights and introspective melodies. over the years, he has released or contributed to labels such as nous’klaer audio, on board music, a-biotic, qilla records, indigo aera, sohaso, re:st and de lichting - the label he co-founded. 

his first introduction to music towards the end of primary school was through breakdancing and listening to hip-hop. from there human space machine started to pull together mixes for school performances and discovered the art of djing. the rabbit hole went further, diving deep into the realms of electro and his fascination with drum computers and synthesizers began. this curiosity that was explored during his school years is still relevant today as human space machine continues to develop his artistic practice through his live sets and collaborations. originally starting with the de lichting collective and performing improvised live sets, human space machine is currently working on a new edition of his solo live sets after debuting at nous’klaer festival in june last year. alongside this, he has started a new platform and release series with sunju hargun (the first ep is out now) plus an upcoming release on midgar records and much more. 

human space machine is one of our favourite producers who’s tracks we can’t stop rinsing so we’re very excited to welcome him to untitled 909 this week with a stunning mix and an in-depth interview talking about the process behind his live sets and recent collaborations, the early days of hip-hop and breakdancing influences, how the netherlands has inspired him and much more. dig in!

Re:Axis (José Diogo Correia) is a Portuguese sound artist and producer whose work spans experimental dance music, techno, ambient and deep atmospheric soundscapes. Classically rooted through piano, harmony and improvisation studies in Oporto and further trained in engineering and sound design in Lisbon, he blends hardware and software to explore inner worlds and expanded awareness. Active professionally since 2006, he has released on labels such as Aurora Mística, Monocline Records and Planet Rhythm, performed worldwide at renowned clubs and festivals, and is known for immersive, contemplative sets that feel part sound bath, part sonic meditation.

For the first EP on Stardust, we present Celestial Nomad by Prague-based producer Roman Pavlenko aka Paromanormal. Drawing inspiration from the expressive nature of FM synthesis, his work highlights the possibilities of distinctive creative sound expression around the matter of inner space and emotion.

Next in our series is Okouru. Paris-born, Berlin-based, and deeply embedded in the underground. Known for his versatile sound palette, Okouru draws from decades of electronic music history, with a particular love for psychedelic trance and techno from the ‘90s and ‘00s. His journey includes a Fabric London debut in 2022, followed by Berghain/Saüle in 2023, and a recent set at Macadam in Nantes.

In this mix Okouru has brought a lovely selection from the turn of the decade, intertwined with contemporary cuts. Slimey textures and acid laced rolling basslines, connecting the dots between the decades.

The next mix in the series is from of our favourite DJ’s - it’s local hero and Slush Records boss, Lora Mipsum. In the last few years, she has been making waves in the underground, spinning progressive gems into records that sit in the hard-to-find area between deep, groove-lead techno and wiggly low-slung tech house.
