Jai Cuzco - Slow Down

One hand on the controls and the other hanging on tight. DJ'ing on top of a fluffy pink bunny at 5mph down the streets of Black Rock City shortly after sunset was one helluva ride to remember! Wide-eyed and big-eared BRC residents hopped on board as we made our way out to the open playa. The crew pulled up to a lioness with a human torso blowing fire out of its paws and I rolled out this playful side of the Apukuna sound. Bounce, smile and bounce some more friends. ẓıȷŋ originates from the Dutch word 'zijn' which is 'to be' and that's music for us as healing in the Now. But how long is Now? ∞ In ẓıȷŋ's family of origin, music has been heard since prehistoric times as the essential art of all the arts, which were omnipresent from an early age. He was literally born with the talent of the sound artist. Some instruments shaped the career and the basic emotional feeling. When he was growing up, the first attempts came with old, cheap CD-Players to mix Goa and Downtempo.

Time passed and the priorities shifted to visual arts such as painting and studying media design. But then at some point „Techno" discovered ẓıȷŋ’s constant 'permacreative' urge to create and so began a timeless journey through electronic worlds of sound, sometimes melodious, sometimes deep, sometimes hypnotic, sometimes colorfully mixed and then again simply and with shamanic influences. Since then, ẓıȷŋ is constantly diggin’ new sound and combines different and sometimes odd styles together, just like an Alchemist would do so.

Orchestral Uplifting Trance, Hardcore, House and Psy and more. 

My fascination with sound began at a very early age with a small electronic keyboard my parents gifted me.  I remember the joy simple chords and harmony brought to my spirit.  My adolescence was spent playing trumpet, singing until 2000 when my focus in sound shifted to primarily electronic. 

My love for EDM began in Buffalo, NY after a night out at Club E, where I heard my first HHC track, "shooting star" from the blue chapter Anabolic Frolic Happy2bHardcore.  This took me on a journey of discovering a new sound which inspired emotions of love, euphoria, goofy, grinding beats.  I got turned on to trance by Vanbuuren, Corsten, Tiesto.  

I began studying uplifting trance in 2014 and mixing in 2018.  I find uplifting trance the most challenging for it's phrasing, keys, and overall structure can be challenging to paste together, but bring unlimited possibilities for an emotional journey through sound and poetry.
