Mysteries of the Deep CXLIV – Sybil

Subatomic, subaquatic particles bubble up to the surface while you seep into a dark blue void. Such is often the sensation one gets while listening to our next guest, Daniel[i]. His music has a distinct oceanic quality that can be as riveting as it is serene. With releases on labels such as Norite, Lowless, and his own Whispering Signals imprint, he has carved out a niche for himself among deep techno and ambient fans alike. After releasing one of his tracks on the last Unrush compilation, it was only a matter of time until we had him on for a mix. Here has prepared an hour-long live ambient set, exemplifying the true nature and depth of his sound. So put on your diving gear, get your airtank filled up, and let yourself sink to the bottom of the ocean...

Richie Beige is originally from Kyiv, currently based Warsaw. Richie gets inspired by a dark and synthetic ambiance and crafts sets that take you on a journey through a sharp, intense and soothing sounds. 

She has performed in different places across Europe such as Jasna 1, B90,
Crackhouse, Wyspa Tamka, Projekt LAB, Das Werk, Refuge Worldwide, THF Radio, 20ft Radio and others. Richie is a resident of Shum Rave from Sloviansk, Ukraine. 

This collective gained rightful prominence following a Mixmag article in April 2021 and Boiler Room in Sloviansk in October 2021, which sparked a cultural wave of attention and movement in the region. She’s also a member of @push_network - FLINTAs DJ Network established in Vienna and Berlin.

After listening to many Freerotation recordings over the years, it feels a bit surreal to share this one. I had such a great time meeting the freero community. Very special to feel the positive vibe and patience to build something new.

what is it about music that makes us feel nostalgic? the memories of a first listen perhaps, the surrounding environment being imprinted on our minds. or could it be the nth time a track is played from a period, and then left to the aether as a marker to our past. only to be revived sporadically like a warm shock to the system when played again. through these lenses we look and listen to our guest for today, as we’re so excited to have the wonderful dj, label owner and much more, pjenné grace the sundays series. her expertly crafted mix hits all the sweet, sweet trip hop spots and wraps around the listener like an auditory hug. perfect to fight off those lingering end of the weekend anxieties with a solid dose of music from the 90s and 00s.
