AI-28 arrives as a double-12” reissue of an album titled “Lucid Dreams”. Formerly released in 1996 as a CD on the now defunct UK imprint em:t, the album now becomes available for the first time on vinyl. Produced collaboratively by Chris Allen, David Thompson (both co-founders of em:t), plus label affiliates Tom Smyth and Will Joss, the record features outlier academic and philosopher Celia Green narrating passages of her classic book “Lucid Dreams” (published in 1968), seamlessly embellished with atmospheric soundscapes throughout.

Brooding amorphously on the cusp of the unknown, the music captures the quintessentially mysterious quality of dreams and dreaming. Layer by layer, the listener is submerged deep into the subconscious stream. The record curls and unwinds with bewildering influence whilst exploring key themes of Green’s studies, with topics covering hallucinatory states, apparitions, out of body experiences, and extrasensory perception. The collaborative handling of samples and sound material comes together powerfully to create a piece that is both artistically theatrical in flavour and sumptuously immersive – a true documentary for the ears and imagination.

Mysteries of the Deep presents a new album from UK-based producer & composer, Thomas Ragsdale & Richard Arnold, entitled ‘Transformations I’

A meeting of minds between family members – Thomas Ragsdale and Richard Arnold – instigated a serendipitous musical partnership, and ’Transformations I’ is the resultant first collaborative body of work. Ragsdale is Arnold’s stepson and both musicians share a fascination of exploring new sound terrain and innovative approaches to composition.

It began with Arnold sending a collection of his instrumental works over to Ragsdale who began to deconstruct and reshape each piece’s lavish sound palette, ushering in new detail with granular synthesis, micro sounds and live tape looping. Sounds were broken down, magnified and inverted, occasionally allowing glimpses of any original version to escape like submersed sands of time.

“A glimpse, a glimmer. A shimmer, a shade. Tonal delicacy, rhythmic suggestion. The soundtrack to a rich inner life. ‘Transformations 1’ is an invitation to the listener to dive deep within. The work of two artists whose kinship is not only filial, but expressionistic: each reconfigures the other, forging new paths in sound together. As past meets present, tradition finds its way forward. Lie awash in dulcet waves. Listen in as patterns emerge, blossom, dissipate. The finite expands. A gossamer beauty takes shape. Boundaries dissolve, and what is old is new again. Transformation.”

'JFR' is an online, blind and rule-less, sudden collaboration between three minds alike.
A quick and quirky exercise,of sounds thrown at each other for further additive or subtractive edits by each one. A three-layered game for connecting and understand each other in a different way too.

The result was three unprocessed cuts of broken music, exploratory technoid patterns and 3 simultaneous speeches trying to cohabitate. An ink sketch on a empty page released in 2 parts. ' This second part comes with the kaleidoscopic perspective of the original track by almighty Estrato Aurora.

As a devotee of nature, Atoloi explores sound creating a mellow amalgam of layers using over-reverberated synths, field recordings, and self-created samples.
Not choosing the club-oriented way as a first calling, instead, his productions search for other depths, in which the listener can get lost while getting submerged by heavy-grained noises and evocative instrumental compositions.

More tracks / demos of mine that I have found going through my previous sessions. It’s mostly on the Casio, but a few on the guitar as well and a little harmonica. There’s not much to it just one take of each of the songs and I worked with what I had after that.
