Originally released on CD in 1999, Astral Industries present a first vinyl issue of Monolake’s much-loved ‘Gobi’, licensed from Imbalance Computer Music. Set to the backdrop of the Gobi desert in eastern Asia, two shimmering vistas plunge the listener into a vast and deeply hypnotic nocturnal soundscape. The perennial hiss and rattle of insects float along the fresh night air in soft waves. The desert thrives with quiet activity as a westerly wind skitters across moonlit dunes, granulated folds dancing like sheets of thin silk. Tectonic plates murmur beneath the shower of stars overhead, their millennial cycles whispering of aeons past. Vividly textured and enticingly synthetic in its sound design, Gobi succeeds as a stunning piece of minimalism.

This is a recording of a live set from Naturalist. Sounds primarily from his travels, so they are pretty wild sources from relatively undisturbed habitats. The first and last track was recorded with @slonomusic and artists from @AediRecords.

From Naturalisten: "Imagine yourself being in a deep jungle without electricity surrounded by wild animals, shamans and then you go for your first-night dive where you see a sleeping turtle. Hopefully, you will find peace in it."

Perpetually obsessed with proving the futility of binaries, Lou Drago is drawn to the spaces between analogue and synthesised sounds. In their sets, Drago aims to provide a space for contemplation and introspection, offering a pause from the anxiety of neoliberalism through ambient, strange and relaxing sounds. They aim to summon imagery of speculative queer and postgendered futurities through evoking sci-fi, space, drone and ambience. Drago hosts a monthly show on Cashmere Radio based in Berlin called TRANSIENCE, each time inviting a different artist to respond to their concept to create an hour of anxiety relief from hetero-patriarchial systems of oppression.

In Patterns of Perception 47, Drago fuses all these elements into a masterfully lucid kaleidoscope of vivid textures and colours punctuated by shimmering spaces.

Vice City is a producer, DJ and party promoter based in Taipei,Taiwan. She's been playing differnt styles at a number of important parties and festivals in Taiwan, including Earthfest Revolution, The Miracle, Organik Festival, Spectrum Formosus and Eden Hill Festival.

Rooted in Techno, but influenced by various styles such as Dub, Dn'B, Breaks and Psychedelic Trance , Vice City's experiments explore the edge of sounds, evolving according to time and place, reaching out to connect with the environment.

Rythmic, smooth, tense, tranquil. Vice City's music shows strong diversities while preserving a cinematic atmosphere and healing vibrations.

Joining Oslated, the South Korean music label in 2016, Vice City had her original mixes and remixes released including her remix tracks "Fantasma" in Bluescript's EP, "Treated By Herbs And Fire" in Saphileaum's "Uninhibited Kingdom", and her original mix "Soul Seeker" in the complilation "Seoul 首尔 - Part 2. Mokmyeok 木覓".

Unjin's 'Northern Atmosphere' creates an expression of a dark ethereal ambience characterized by evolving dissonant harmonies, and long sustained tone clusters. The artist combines hardware synthesis with intricate audio routing to achieve his signature sound.  Northern Atmosphere evokes a feeling of solitude, isolation and precariousness.

Following his contributions to some of our very first releases, O-Ma returns on Ōtium and joins forces with Pierre Montagnon for Kōgen, a tape & digital duo album.

Recorded in Tokyo during 2020 confinement, Kōgen embraces current post- apocalyptic world-setting. Across the 8 tracks and an additional 20 mn live recording, the few broken club influences and hopeful ethereal pads get occluded by industrial field-recordings elements, eerie drones and noise textures.

Slowly crafted in an analog & modular synthesis environment, the album tracks all comes from re-arranged improvised live session. The 20mn recording that ends the release gives the opportunity to dive in the original composition setting of the album.

Kōgen comes in a limited press of 25 tapes.
