Having bonded over a particularly nerdy level of obsession over some of our favourite deep techno artists, I've loved watching Amani grow as a DJ - they have played two Animalia events in the past, showcasing their incredible building abilities & class taste from bass to dnb to deep techno & minimal electro cuts. This mix is a sublime continuation of so.. deep, chuggy, bassy rollers.

Influences: 
As far as dance music, early progressive and psy through to newer proggy clubbier stuff, a lot of which is coming out of Melbourne! More broadly, I grew up on a lot of psych rock from the 60s & 70s, and I can feel that influencing my taste in dance music as I gravitate towards driving, whimsical, trancey sounds.  

Affiliations/Residencies/Projects: 
I'm currently recording the first EP for my new psych rock project Milou Moon (@milou_music) set to release September 2023. Stay tuned! I also DJ at parties around Melbourne sometimes- this mix is actually based on a set I played recently at around 2am at a park party.

She currently holds down a residency at Public Records and at The Lot Radio – and runs an eponymous monthly music newsletter, In Your Dirty Ears, highlighting her favourite new electronic releases and more, with Yumi and S. Casella. 

Incubating since 2020, Uwu dust bath is her newly launched label co-birthed with Athen’s based DJ, Noff. The label acts as a virtual hub, connecting and documenting leftfield artists who share mutual affiliation for sonic release and elevated states.
