We continue our journey into sound with the Wandering II Compilation. This compilation celebrates the 20th release in the original SS series. A journey that took close to a year to compile and prepare. The tracklist is comprised of friends and artists who share in a connection with Silent Season through their music.

The Wandering Compilation is named after the Wandering tree, a Big Leaf Maple that grows very slowly near the beach by my house. I sit under this tree to ponder and watch the ocean. It’s a favourite place to chill with music and contemplate life. It’s under this tree that the idea of compiling a series of music that embodies the Silent Season vision and sound was born. We welcome you to sit back, close you’re eyes and listen to the sounds of the Wandering II compilation.

In a world rife with chaos there is so much beauty that can be found by being in nature. The aim of the Wandering compilation is to share music that encourages people to take notice of their natural surroundings and find peace within Mother Nature. The love of nature is a common language that transcends political and social boundaries. Through music, nature gives us universal purpose.

Following collaborations with the likes of Gaika, Mumdance and Andy Stott, Israeli MC Miss Red released her debut album 'K.O.' last week. With production handled entirely by frequent collaborator The Bug, it's an intense, adrenaline-fuelled listen that lays out a blueprint for futuristic new dancehall.

Born to Israeli Moroccan and Polish parents, Miss Red's early experiences of growing up in an immigrant family and their resulting persecution have informed the writing of the album, influenced heavily by her lifelong attraction to the reggae scene in Jamaica. “Nicodemus really influenced me", she explains, "but as a girl, it wasn’t my voice, and it was listening to those '80s dancehall gyals that I gravitated towards, because they were chatting as proud girls, and from a female perspective, so it was vocalists like Sister Nancy and Lady Ann that really made the biggest impression on me."

We're very happy to welcome Miss Red on board for a 'Monday Is Okay' mix, which acts as a showcase for her love of vintage dub and dancehall.
