From the passionate lands of France, Arnaud Galoppe, known as Focal and Kinosura, has hand-mixed an emotional labyrinth of dark techno and melancholy ambience in Ultimae’s latest compilation.
Polarity is a double-sided conglomerate of electronic expressions from all over the world, spanning across atmospheric soundworlds of intimate drone and deep, industrial progressions. 
This collection of heartwarming soundscapes and foot-stomping house beats is smoother than butter, a series of 26 top-notch tracks that paint an interesting, auditory adventure. Although the album has a minimalistic approach, it offers a surprisingly detailed production. Each track is layered with expert craftsmanship and hypnotic melodies laced against diverse, psychedelic noise echoing in the distance.
Polarity is certainly an experience worth traversing, and we are proud to host it as an excellent addition to any electronica connoisseur's sound-library.

Following collaborations with the likes of Gaika, Mumdance and Andy Stott, Israeli MC Miss Red released her debut album 'K.O.' last week. With production handled entirely by frequent collaborator The Bug, it's an intense, adrenaline-fuelled listen that lays out a blueprint for futuristic new dancehall.

Born to Israeli Moroccan and Polish parents, Miss Red's early experiences of growing up in an immigrant family and their resulting persecution have informed the writing of the album, influenced heavily by her lifelong attraction to the reggae scene in Jamaica. “Nicodemus really influenced me", she explains, "but as a girl, it wasn’t my voice, and it was listening to those '80s dancehall gyals that I gravitated towards, because they were chatting as proud girls, and from a female perspective, so it was vocalists like Sister Nancy and Lady Ann that really made the biggest impression on me."

We're very happy to welcome Miss Red on board for a 'Monday Is Okay' mix, which acts as a showcase for her love of vintage dub and dancehall.

Miss Red: The 'Monday Is Okay' Mix

‘Dust’ borrowed its name from a short story by Greg Egan, in which a future scenario grants humans the ability to duplicate their consciousness as software, thus experiencing immortality. Inspired by this narrative, Nicolas decided to focus on the experiences of the main character, who observes himself becoming increasingly disordered in his surroundings.

Whilst writing this remix I decided to use just a select few elements of the original, but with the mindset that I'd recreate the colours of Bougaïeff's sonic palette myself. This would mean I could take the original ideas in different directions. The outcome was a battle between his textures and mine, where elements push and pull against each other, almost in conflict.

Jazzbox - Ode To Satie

The scene - a Los Angeles warehouse, adorned with light sculptures and 50ft wall projections as the downtown skyline sinks from day-to-night. Naturally, it called for some Blade Runner inspired sounds. 

Recording from The World Of Light Museum, Los Angeles, where https://soundcloud.com/dance-spirit curated a massive Gallery Experience in August 2019 featuring 50ft wall projections and art exhibits by Purdy Lites + more. My set came after a beautiful opening modular set by https://soundcloud.com/constantshapes and was followed by https://soundcloud.com/dance-spirit Live, Philip Jung and https://soundcloud.com/concretmusic.
