Multiverse is a word used to describe an infinite group of disparate universes including the ones currently inhabited by humans. A myriad of realms that sit side by side, undetected by our senses, surround us at any given moment. The multiverse theory was first confirmed by tracking leakage of electromagnetic waves filtering from one dimension into the next. When these waves were transposed to fit into frequencies audible by the human ear, the recordings were studied by a team of scientists, who found that they contained rhythmic elements that resembled a speech pattern of an alien language...

Introducing a deeply soothing Unrush mix from DOC - a producer, live act, and founder of Selene Series, whose sound I've been exploring since a friend connected us at this year's Mostra Festival.

For this mix, he delivers something truly special: a warm, comforting sound blanket which spans over almost 3 hours. Moving away from the more experimental edges he often explores, DOC has crafted a mix that feels like a gentle, unhurried stroll.

In his own words:

"Not every mix needs to be ‘a journey’. This mix is a stroll.

A stroll around that feeling of warmth, of tranquility, of comfort. A walk in circles around different iterations of beautiful music to soothe your senses. Because sometimes, the act of walking is the destination in itself. And when we are not going anywhere, just being for the sake of being, there is no rush. We are unrushed."

When Stephen Hitchell released The Seduction of Silence in 2009 under his Intrusion alias, the double-CD immediately established itself as a landmark in the dub techno continuum. Across deep, glacial chords, cavernous bass and hypnotic atmospheres, Hitchell expanded the Berlin/Detroit lineage into something spiritual and introspective – a meditative art form rooted in emotion, texture and stillness rather than club-function alone.

Sixteen years on, The Seduction of Silence returns in its most definitive form, with both Part 1 and Part 2 now finally available on vinyl for the first time. Remastered and cut by Stefan Betke (POLE), the records unlock new depth and dimensionality, offering a fully immersive experience for both longstanding admirers and new listeners.

Part 1 traces the genesis of Intrusion, sparked by Hitchell’s rediscovery of a Sequential Circuits Prophet 2000 sampler containing fragments of his ’90s experiments. Revived during a period of transition – long hours in record distribution, a move to Chicago’s lakeside, impending fatherhood – those sounds became the foundation for weighty yet introspective dub, heard vividly in Montego Bay and Intrusion Dub.

Part 2 carries a more expansive, improvisational feel, influenced by the late Phillip C. Hertz, Hitchell’s colleague at Crosstalk Distribution. Recorded through live jams and experimental sessions, this chapter drifts into deeper ambient-dub territory, paying tribute to collaboration, community and the fluidity of sound.

Together, both parts form a deeply personal document of life, art and devotion to sound. Alongside this feature, Hitchell shares a live recording from his New York debut at Public Records in July 2025, hosted by Zen/Echo – an intimate Intrusion performance in full analog drift.

DJ and Pintai co-founder, he moves between minimal, dub techno, deep house, and ambient, shaping subtle and introspective soundscapes. 
Together with Hame and Hafa, he co-created Pintai Records to bring people together through music and events.

This set was recorded in the chill-room of Pintai x Small Steps at ADE 2025, Amsterdam.

Based in Naarm/Melbourne, her sound blends ambient textures with carefully selected downtempo and IDM, unfolding like a shifting, immersive landscape that feels calm, intricate, and deeply captivating. Each moment is thoughtfully crafted, inviting the listener to get lost in the flow and experience a journey that is both expansive and intimate.

About the mix she said:
"I imagine this mix soundtracking a sunrise walk along a beach... warm horizons, shimmering rain, the calm that settles once everything has passed. Patient, fluid and unhurried.. While snow falls on a frigid Brooklyn, I sit at home. Having a tea, and enjoying the dub infused selections as they coalesce. Somehow they work together, the austere winter outside playing off the warm, rhythmic sounds from within.

after the universe dies

In spirit this picks up my solo electronic synthesis roots, where my first album “Moving Pictures” left off. This is where I started and in my heart I have never really left! 

All music performed live or live with overdub on an Elta Music Solar 42N and a Windows11 minibook. Music was rehearsed and each track was recorded as a single take other than any overdubs. Pieces performed full length; the fades are part of the live performances.

The Chuwi minibook runs a single instance of Native Instruments Kontakt for manually triggered clips created for the performances, and for additional percussion using Sonuscore’s Fragments. The output runs directly into the Solar for processing, with the main output coming from the Solar.
