His curatorial vision continues through Lamassu, where he explores the outer edges of dance music with the same careful devotion.

"A hush settles over the winter landscape as shadow and melody intertwine. Field recordings drift in like cold air through a cracked window, grounding each passage in a world both distant and near. Darker currents move beneath the surface, yet something gentle keeps breaking through — small motifs, brief clearings, moments of quiet lift. An abstract, atmospheric journey shaped by contrast, restraint, and a kind of beauty that thrives in low light."

William Selman (@wselman) is a Portland, Oregon-based multi-disciplinary artist whose sound work uses field recordings, synthesizers, acoustic instruments, and digital processing techniques to explore themes such as place and non-places, embodiment, atmosphere, and the dialectic between the real and the artificial. He co-manages the Critique of Everyday Life label with Chris Miller (Gunnar Haslam) and plays in the improvisational trio Wild Card of Cascadia with Paul Dickow (Strategy) and Marcus Fischer. He has released works on Old Technology, Hausu Mountain, Mysteries of the Deep, Digitalis, and Critique of Everyday Life.

Dialog's modern vision of dubwise electronic music continues to expand outwards as they serve up the fourth drop in their DOT series — a heavyweight record of two distinct halves.

On 'Chant', Dialog throw down a tough, dance-ready beat as the bedrock for a dynamic, ever-shifting tapestry of echo chamber impulses, mellow machine soul and fulsome sub-bass. It's a natural vessel for Benji's easygoing mantra — a call to use our voices and make ourselves heard.

'Silence' on the B side leans back into a meditative pulse that lands somewhere between pitched-down steppas and trip-hop, draped in refined and intricately detailed layers of tone and texture and featuring an especially soulful falsetto from Benji. It's the perfect back room foil to 'Chant's upfront pressure, taken further out by the instrumental version and a lush ambient 'Scape' mix of 'Silence' that allows the delicacy of the synth sound design to shine through.

On DOT 4, Dialog prove once again there are no limits to the scope of their sound as they channel deep-rooted dub principles into their own distinctive strain of heads-down nourishment for mind, body and soul.

“for a mix series i love to dive deep in my collection and play tracks that would normally be too deep or difficult to play during a dj-set in a club.

i wanted to make a mix that would be a representative snapshot of what i am really into at the moment. deep, heady music, sometimes intense, melancholic, but always rolling and forward pushing.” 

entering the deep kaleidoscopic world of human space machine. 

based in the netherlands, human space machine is a dj and producer who made his production debut in 2018 and has quickly become a go-to artist for his swirling psychedelic records that bring together functional techno grooves, progressive delights and introspective melodies. over the years, he has released or contributed to labels such as nous’klaer audio, on board music, a-biotic, qilla records, indigo aera, sohaso, re:st and de lichting - the label he co-founded. 

his first introduction to music towards the end of primary school was through breakdancing and listening to hip-hop. from there human space machine started to pull together mixes for school performances and discovered the art of djing. the rabbit hole went further, diving deep into the realms of electro and his fascination with drum computers and synthesizers began. this curiosity that was explored during his school years is still relevant today as human space machine continues to develop his artistic practice through his live sets and collaborations. originally starting with the de lichting collective and performing improvised live sets, human space machine is currently working on a new edition of his solo live sets after debuting at nous’klaer festival in june last year. alongside this, he has started a new platform and release series with sunju hargun (the first ep is out now) plus an upcoming release on midgar records and much more. 

human space machine is one of our favourite producers who’s tracks we can’t stop rinsing so we’re very excited to welcome him to untitled 909 this week with a stunning mix and an in-depth interview talking about the process behind his live sets and recent collaborations, the early days of hip-hop and breakdancing influences, how the netherlands has inspired him and much more. dig in!
