Monument presents Alpenglühen #65 w/ JFR

MTRL (material) is a versatile art and music project by Lukas Weinlein. Driven by his interest in different ways of artistic expression, he started experimenting with sounds at a young age, tapping into many different styles of music. This insightful journey shaped his current understanding of music and ultimately led him to the endless possibilities of electronic music, inspired by the infinite cosmos and organic voices of nature. Having bonded with a multitude of great artists helped to refine his style and created a sphere of inspiration around him. The name for this specific art project was chosen because the definition of the word material, the matter from which a thing is or can be made, fits the purpose of the project very good. So the aim of MTRL is to create an audiovisual experience from existing or non-existing matter for open-minded brains. Together with Dycide and Polygonia he is one of the minds behind the label IO.

"Preparing the set for Temple was already special for me because I wasn't just thinking about what I wanted to do or communicate, as on other occasions, but how I could musically connect with Suso Saiz, whom I deeply admire. We decided not to talk beforehand and engage in an exercise of experimentation, presenting it with the trust generated by the event organizers, the other participating artists (also friends), and the attendees, among whom were also many friends. The result was magical; musically, we transitioned from the most subtle drones to moments that were even noisy, and it seemed like we all floated in a limbo that made the two hours fly by".

Classically trained cellist, composer, and storyteller https://soundcloud.com/lihqun (Lih Qun Wong) presents her debut album, ‘Socha’ for A Strangely Isolated Place. Combining a vast instrumental skillset of piano, cello, electronics, and spoken word, she crafts intensely immersive aural-hallucinatory worlds of intricately shifting landscapes. 

A deeply personal work, Socha explores the ‘diaspora of time and space, and why we all feel so displaced.' Piano chapters capture the meeting place between memory and longing, while explorational vocal and cello textures invoke and echo the ancient, the feminine, and the otherworldly. 

Lihla’s voice guides us, weaving through electronics and field recordings of the ‘real world' to set the path for a poetic and deeply haunting journey through the internal psyche that is truly transportive and escapist.

Welcome to the Amatori extended family to @serenitysoundseeker - Polish DJ & VJ, fascinated by ethereal ambient sounds. 

Radio host of nauka oddychania (a show broadcasted on Radio Luz) and co-creator of @p_o_z_n_o (an audiovisual collective based in Wrocław). Her mixes lead us to a meditative state of being by combining warm, soul-soothing power ambient with dreamy sounds full of textures.


About this mix: 
It was inspired by the fragment of Italian poem “L’onda” (which is a part of the book “Viaggio verso l’interno”) written by Beato Gabriele and also by confusing feelings evoked through observing the eruption of a volcano. The fear mixed with fascination—endless shapes of lava and unpredictability of the motion. Mutability formed by fire in liquid form, primal element of mother nature, fragility hidden in our bodies, past mixed with the present. The wave is driven by emotions.
