Here is the 343th chapter of the Deep Electronics serie. Released every two weeks the serie brings you a diversity into the abyss of deep electronic music. This time Orca Silent makes his debut with a mixtape of his own productions.

Bio: 
Transient BC local Orca Silent has lived and plays on the unceded Wet'suwet'en, Syilx and Coast Salish territories, collecting and curating a land based sound that embodies the iconic Pacific Northwest of Vancouver Island. Witness dubbed out, soundsystem techno, seeped in ocean depths and lost in archaic rainforests.

About the mixtape
Mix features live edits of extended versions of the catalogue, reflecting the slow change of weather and the approach of storm watching season. All tracks are unreleased and exclusive to Deep Electronics.

It is rare nowadays, in an increasingly cynical and competitive scene, for young and upcoming DJ's to get much recognition or opportunity to showcase their talents. In an industry where affiliation and endorsement from more established artists is key and where tastes and attention spans grow more fickle by the day it seems increasingly difficult for budding artists to break new ground.
RENA has overcome these preconceptions and transcended a heavily male dominated arena by sticking to a strict work ethic and a healthy and imaginative approach to her music. With almost a decade on DJing and a lengthy and enthusiastic exposure to electronic music, she always brings a fresh, innovative and contagious brew of energy to her performances!
Concentrating on gigging around her native Greece, she has steadily built herself a loyal fan base and developed her technical and programming skills. Having paid her dues and worked her way up from a consistent, dependable warm-up DJ to very remarkable artist like Oscar Mulero, Len Faki, Ben Sims, she has effortlessly made the transition to peak time performer and crowd pleaser.
Adding another bow to her resume, 2011 has seen her make her first forays into the studio, working on a few original productions while she follows a multitasking career as a label manager on Skeleton & Tronic.
While the term "electronic music" is an apt description of her musical directions, Rena's sets can encompass everything from emotional, dub techno sounds to heavy and humid atmospheres, always blended and mixed with precision and without limits! @resoe-baum-records aka Dennis Uprock is Dennis Bøg who grew up in the outskirts of Copenhagen – Denmark.
At an early age he already had interest in music playing organ and drums, but it was in 1986 after he became friends with the legendary Danish Hip Hop DJ Typhoon, he got into collecting vinyl and started playing vinyl.

At first his interest was mainly Hip Hop, Soul, Funk, Jazz and Reggae, but when House and Techno got introduced in Europe, he got hooked immediately. In 1992 he became the resident DJ at the famous Danish gay club called After Dark/Metro, where he played 6 nights a week for two years, before he relocated to New York and Miami, for a short period of time.

When he came back he held a residency at the club Stengade 30 as Dennis Uprock on Thursdays, which he did all the time the night existed. In 1996 he started working at the famous record shop, but now closed Loud Records for six years. This is where he met and became friends Aron Loud and Kenneth Christiansen. Together with Aron he started the DJ  and production collective Sonik Soul ,which at some time also included Martinez of Guidance Recordings fame. Aron and Dennis played more or less every club worth mentioning in the 90´s and 00´s of Copenhagen, and they were the resident DJ´s at the famous Vega Nightclub & Stereo Bar for years.
The Sonik Soul nights was like a melting pot of all kinds of music, ranging from Deep House, Garage, Broken Beat, Soul, Hip Hop, Dub and Reggae and occasionally Techno. As Sonik Soul he and Aron joined forces with DJ Malachy, to form the club Homecookin´ showcasing the evolving sound of West London called Broken Beat. 
Over time Homecookin´ evolved into a more Reggae and Dancehall orientated club, and this was the forerunner for the famous Sunday night club called Rub A Dub Sundays. Besides being part of Sonik Soul and the Homecookin´ crew, he played under his moniker Dennis Uprock, and he was one of the key figures of the Danish Deep House scene.
He is a really skilled DJ, and in his sets he can take people on a musical journey through time, due to his diverse record collection. Dennis is strong believer in the vinyl format, and has always stuck to that.

His releases can be found on the labels Baum Records, Baum LPE, Echocord, Echocord Colour, Pattern Repeat, Curle, Field Records and Pan Records.

I followed Resoe's sound from the first release on Baum and he has become one of my favorite producers. His way of production, the chords he creates and also the more housy output are always exceptional and unique. I am very much looking forward to hear more from him, maybe a successor to his Black Void of Space album on Echocord.
