Re-embracing hope in present and past science fiction.

 A heavy dub of Nachtmusik. Admittedly the name 'New Nubia Space Station' is a bit too conceptually obvious and pretentious, but it kind of stuck. Working title was 'ambient step dub', next idea was 'Octavia Butler', name of the sci-fi novel author Octavia Butler, which in turn almost noone would understand who or what it refers to. (she is often named as the inventor of afrofuturism). 

The new name is inspired by two contemperary novels by Omar Epps & Clarence A. Haynes. 'Nubia - The Reckoning' and the follow up 'Nubia - The Awakening'. Definitely more down to earth than the 'Black Panther' franchise. Dystopic, yet entertaining and hopeful.

Shadows & Echoes drifts through the quiet aftermath of love, where every corner of the night seems haunted by what used to be. Built on airy pads, pulsing sub-bass, and a hypnotic trap rhythm, the track captures the way memories linger like silhouettes in the dark. Half-there, half-gone, impossible to hold but impossible to ignore.

This song sits early in the arc of Midnight Confessions, following the ache of Fractured Hearts and Ghosted. It’s not quite grief anymore, but not yet acceptance. It’s that in-between space where echoes still chase you through the city at night. The lyrics weave nostalgia with distance, tracing the outlines of what’s been lost while beginning to step into what comes next.

Moody, cinematic, and hypnotic. Shadows & Echoes is a soundtrack for those midnight walks when the past won’t let go, but the future is already pulling you forward.

Made for late-night drives, headphones at 2am, and glowing club dancefloors, Midnight Confessions is my love letter to the LGBTQ+ community. A soundtrack for those who’ve lived through heartbreak and come out the other side stronger, brighter, and unapologetically alive.
