After more than 10 years of experimenting in the studio, @kosh212 is one of the few upcoming Moroccan artists to catch attention on a global scale. Growing up in Casablanca, it’s during his years spent in the U.S. that his interest in early acid tracks and Detroit techno truly matured.

Whether playing DJ sets or performing live, Kosh knows how to subtly jump through different genres. Versatility is in fact often said to be his trademark. His music delicately blends nasty acid basslines, frenetic breaks, and electro beats, as well as warm infused pads and fast-paced techno.

After moving back to Casablanca in 2016, Kosh has been actively involved with the label @csvoyager alongside his longtime friends and music partners @drissbennis aka OCB and Jonas Bengio aka @vviewtifuljoe. In 2021, Kosh started his own self-releasing label called @convergencerec

A musical project born from an unexpected encounter and a firm will to bring Gnawa music out to the world. Written in Frankfurt, recorded and engineered in Bockenem, Germany, Rabii Harnoune & V.B. Kühl have collectively produced an LP that explores a special musical territory, perfectly blurring the lines between North Africa and Europe, released in 2020 via @tru-thoughts, this melange of traditional Northern African Gnawa music and electronic sounds has led to a fascinating debut and otherwordly cross-cultural friction resulting in a 12 piece album encompassing deep vibes and unstoppable grooves, building a bridge from old to new. Born in London, Half Mauritian half Moroccan, raised to music from both Morocco and Mauritius, @mehdi-elaquil is a DJ and Selector who has witnessed the pivoting of musical currents over the past decades. Heavily inspired by Jazz-funk, Hip-hop, Electro Boogie, Afro-beat, Soul, and House music, Mehdi has been honing his craft since the early 80s. As a DJ he has transitioned from playing in Ibiza to making regular appearances in London during the mid-90s, followed up by a steady relocation to Australia back in 2004. 
Firm lover of music on Vinyl as a medium with a continuously rising interest in electronics and studio gear, Mehdi has gathered solid knowledge and expertise over the years, which has led to the creation of his own equipment line 9 years ago, @condesaelectronics, a globally renowned series of high-end mixers, hand-made in South Australia. 

Mehdi's DJ style is free-floating, eclectic, and lively, with a penchant for positive vibes fully summarizing the essence of DJing.

‘For home use only’ is an anti-club social, a chance to get to know someone/something. A series of transmissions purely dedicated to exploring the other side.

Here we are again (and again), the cold sets in, the nights are darker and our thoughts drift to the warmer dreams in every shape and form. For the next 133 minutes, we learn how to light one's own fire, through the perfect blend of escapism and imagination. Our sonic guide for the occasion is Tousist, aka Harry, an Irish ex-pat who understands musical coherence,  in a way that only comes along once every 100 years. 

I always struggle to put Tousist’ abilities into words, his musical vitality really speaks for itself, but, I’ll give it a shot. A humble being, with an understated approach to melodies across every genre.  His methodical madness explodes into all his mixes and productions. From dub to techno, he has every single base covered. Ever since listening to his mix for passing notes (link below), I have been paying close attention to everything he does, including his own show on DDR and his plethora of other mixes on offer. He is definitely someone to watch. 

This mix really pushes the boundaries of what ’home’ is, designed almost architecturally, with a solid foundation in rhythm, it allows you to shift your perceptions of some dangerous places you wouldn’t usually call home. Perfectly tied into winter through the depth of the melancholy undertones, woven seamlessly with hopeful glimmers to produce this amazingly joyous story arch.  Every room in this ‘house’ brings form and function together in perfect harmony, different hallways leading to different worlds, biophilia and brutalism in sync, with a buffet of surrealism. Time for the tour.

Always dig with an open mind and continue to learn about the history of the communities and genres/artists that inspire you. don’t constrain yourself to one genre or one vision of yourself - trust your ear, lean into change and new directions, your artistic identity is a constant journey! surround yourself with people that inspire you and push you to grow, but don’t compare yourself to them. Pace yourself - burnout is real!!

About the mix: This was recorded back in April at Vitarave 006, one of my favorite diy events Vitamin1000 throws annually in the Southern California desert - a friends + fam renegade celebrating our community and honoring how our collective started :) I leaned into the dark liminal space the desert can have at night - this mix blends some of my favorite tracks filled with punchy and electro-infused rhythms, bubbly and lush leads, and bass/dubstep/dnb surprises that I’ve been enjoying sprinkling into my sets.
