Even in the darkest of times, there is always hope and light to be found.

"Openness" is a deeply personal exploration of the themes of vulnerability, authenticity, and connections. Through my music, I delve into the depths of emotions, exploring the intricacies of human experience. My hope is that this album will provide comfort, inspiration, and support to all those who have felt broken and lost, and serve as a reminder of the power of resilience and hope.

It all starts with 'Openness.'
By being open, you build a lot of 'Connections.'
You will have wonderful 'Experiences.'
But then, you have to face the 'Consequences.'
After which, there is only 'Hope' left.
Then, it is time for 'Acceptance'...
And only then, you will achieve the 'Inner Light.'

This album is a genre-blending journey, combining electronic, chillout, and psybient elements with sampled ethnic instruments, ethereal voices, and electronic synth leads, as well as deep, warm, and punchy basslines. The music creates an immersive and emotive sonic landscape, inviting listeners to delve into their own inner world.

03. Astronaut Ape - Experiences

Having previously released under the aliases Gav Ley & dYstance, predominantly on the mighty but now defunct Top Drawer Digital label, Q Club is a continuation and extension of my previous works.

Still heavily influenced by the rave and dance music sounds of the late 80s to early 00s, the aim of this project is to expand on that by essentially, releasing whatever I feel like, not bound to a single genre or scene. It is also home to previously unreleased works that would otherwise just gather dust.

I am a huge advocate for dynamic range in dance and rave music, feeling that excess of the opposite can destroy the soul of a track, and can be quite fatiguing on the ears, thus, a lot of future projects may not be cold, clipped, brick-wall affairs. I do, however, feel that "loudness" can have a place dependant on the mood of a piece.

I do not use social media and my passion is for creating music, not marketing, so this is the source for everything I create. if you enjoy it, feel free to give it some love, share it and leave feedback.

I do this for the love of creation so most of my stuff is free to download and play. Remix packs/stems can sometimes be made available on request.
