After relocating from Spain to home town Bristol, MINTY has established herself as a selector of underground bass music, mixing Dubstep with other sounds of Grime, Breaks and beyond.

Since starting her journey DJing in 2018 she has played for the likes ofDeep Medi, Croydub, Sector Seven, NASS Festival, Eskimo Dance and more, alongside undertaking radio residencies and appearances for the likes of RinseFM, Subtle, Swu Fm & Noods.

Having first started her journey in a Grime collective known as ‘Wine n Grime’, MINTY is alsothe founder of Bristol based brand W8E Recordings, taking inspiration from Bristol's underground music scene and love for Sound System music. Expect her setsto be filled with newer weighty sounds.

The end of the year is upon us once again, so it's time to reflect on yet another stacked twelve months of 140 carnage! This years end of year special comes in two parts, where I run through a heap of tunes that has sound tracked my year throughout two one hour sessions. This first instalment features thirty of some of my most played tunes this year, be it a track that has been at the head of releases and the scene in general or those that have flown under the radar. Slow Astro is a new mix series by Fracture which revisits the rich Astrophonica back catalogue and presents it in a new light. Starting with Volumes 1 & 2 featuring music from Sully, Client_03, Philip D Kick & DJ Earl.

"I have always been intrigued by playing audio back at different speeds. Be it speeding up breakbeats to make Jungle or slowing down pop music to make drawn out nostalgic atmospheres. Some of my first experiments with pitch were with my brother. We’d record ourselves onto cassette and use the hi speed dubbing feature to change the pitch of our voices. If you held the play button down half way it would cause the tape to play back at different speeds - mangling the audio.
Over the past year I became fascinated with playing on 7 inch records on 33. New rhythms, grooves and textures appear when you change the pitch of audio. It can totally alter the emotional quality of a piece of music you thought you knew so well - creating new artefacts with a familiar yet dreamlike quality. I started to wonder what the Astrophonica catalogue would sound like slowed down. So I made ‘Slow Astro’. Shout out DJ Screw…" - Fracture

The Lisbon-based artist, honcho of the naive & naivety labels, co-founder of Rádio Quântica ánd co-organizer of a queer event series called mina is one the main faces of Lisbon's exciting and blooming underground music scene.

Her mix is a textbook example of elegant and controlled chaos, going from electro to bass to rave, leaving us on a high tension for 60 minutes. We couldn't close the year any better if you'd ask us.
