PREMIERE: T.Markakis - New Begginings [DHF Records]

Earworm presents it's debut release "Malmö Multum" - a collaboration with and fundraiser for Bolero Recordstore in the form of a VA populated with tracks by some of the cities best and brightest.

Each producer flexes their flavour and does what they do best which has resulted in an eclectic album moving from one style to another. Purely by coincidence, within the variety there exists a cohesive flow through the body of work, as if the tracks were meant to belong together. The city inspires us all in different ways, yet there exists a crossover with a mechanism to link those inspirations.

In light of the recent motion to close our beloved local Bolero Recordstore, this fundraiser acts as a celebration of what the store has done for the underground community and as a statement of our desire for the collaborative vision to continue in new ways.

All money raised from this VA will be donated to Bolero with the intention to make future events and projects even more possible.

A chance introduction between vocalist Anna Ling and producer Lucky Sun (Tom Lown), resulted in 2 luscious remixes of her song Butterfly. 

Anna Ling, a singer-songwriter, choir leader and teacher based in Devon had an interest in working with different producers to give a new perspective on her already wonderful, folky original self released songs.

The first of the 2 remixes has a downtempo groove, featuring Tom’s live drums with subtle synths and pads creating a bed for the double bass and strings from the original. Anna’s unique, almost otherworldly voice carries the song up into the clouds. Live instrumentation and electronic elements weave together to create goosebumps. 
The 2nd remix ‘Lucky Sun Midnight Dub Mix’ is more uptempo with an uplifting, warm deep house feel. Anna’s vocals are more minimal and lay deeper in the mix, instead of upfront, creating a ‘dub’ type version.
