The follow up EP to Yellow Claw’s epic Jeffree’s debut, Amsterdam Twerk Music cleans up your definition of “dirty” just so they can strip it down to booty claps and bass rolls. The first track, “DJ Turn It Up” is a subtle dance floor anthem reminiscent of the heavy bass from your nostalgic middle school days of grinding to timeless hip-hop anthems.

On the second track, Yellow Claw teams up with Tropkillaz and The Kemist to bring us “Assets,” a track that twists its vocals in a way that winds through the most bass-hungry, whimsical quarter of your imagination. “P*$$YRICH feat. Adje” then transports you deeper into Yellow Claw’s bass dungeon, leaving its victims up against the walls bumping and grinding till sunrise.

Amsterdam Twerk Music concludes with “Slow Down”, an addictive baseline paired with a jock-jams reminiscent hook. Yellow Claw are the tastemakers of guilty pleasure. But lets be honest… there’s no guilt attached to the obsession.

"The Pool" was a unique entity in the early-to-mid '80s out of Austin, Texas. The synthesizer project by drummer Patrick Keel released two albums and a series of EPs despite the gradual decline of the 'synth-pop' genre. "Jamaica Running" is the B-side to his "Dance It Down" single and the song appears to be a bit of an unusual track for The Pool, more laid back and groove focused than the rest of his work, which is more upbeat and energetic. With our edit we added a bunch of percussion and space echo dubs to give it a more tropical flair for our "Stir It Up" mixtape.

French producer Teho makes a swift return to Herzblut to follow up his excellent Hope EP from May this year. His latest work sees him team up with fellow Frenchman and huge talent Tran, who's own music has been described as oscillating between minimal and melodic. Making this partnership a perfect fit. 

Their KOTO EP sees Teho & Tran submerging us in trademark emotional and powerful soundtracks, enhanced further by their use of the wonderful sounds of the Orient. Lead cut Asakusa elegantly displays its power through its pulsing one note bass and opening broken beat pattern. Its liquid flow sees it gather intensity before the Eastern strings echo in its breakdown. On the flip we are treated to more of the same, this time lead by Kabuki's beautiful flutes, warped bassline and plucked string melody. Perfection.

Ryan Crane is back again with his latest Deep House effort, ‘Memory Loss’. The talented DJ and producer is seeking to continue his ascension within the House province and further his already impressive success. With projects such as: ‘Samo’, ‘Heat’, ‘Heroes’, ‘Ok Go’, ‘We Are Strong’, ‘Street Level’, ‘Slimer EP’, ‘Twist’, ‘We Love You’, and ‘Lazy Days’, all released within the last two years, Ryan Crane is putting out quality tracks at a rapid rate. ‘Memory Loss’ marks another important step in his development and might be considered his most noteworthy track so far. Already gaining the support of international DJs such as: Larry Tee, Dan McKie, JJ Mullor, Phil Turnipseed, Suz Curter, Adam Meza, and Vanilla Ace, this single is surely a grand start for Ryan Crane this year.

Kicking off with a no-nonsense back-beat groove accompanying the pulled-back, dreamy synth loop the single sets the tone for what’s to come. The groove is intensified with the introduction of the four-on-the-floor kick pattern and open Hi-Hat phrasing, which offers a unique blend to the filtered vocals. The electronic trumpet-like effect foreshadows the next section, which is stripped back of the drum groove to give way to the sporadic lead melody to be heard. The solid drum beat is re-introduced with some added deep bass elements, providing a considerable lift to the production. Ryan Crane pulls back on the energy levels once more by applying heavy filtering on the vocals, utilising a bass-synth and effects led accompaniment in the background, together with a plain kick pattern, later also taking away the bass drum to further enhance the contrast. The skilled DJ offers different variations of the main section, taking full control on dynamic levels, proposing diverse textures and offering a wide range of his unique, signature sounds. ‘Memory Loss’ is a sheer display of Ryan Crane’s musical maturity, immense talent and versatility.

Astro Raph (born Jacob Shier) began producing Jungle/Drum’nBass, Trip Hop and House and DJing in 1993. He moved to Boulder, Colorado where he did a weekly 3 hour show on Amino Internet Radio; even landing the opportunity to open for Ambient DJ Mix Master Morris (aka The Irresistible Force). In ’98 he appeared on a compilation known as “Awake In The Lap Of A Dream” through the record label Freakie People. 

It was in 2005 when Astro moved to Hawaii and hooked up with local DJ crew ‘ChillTown Maui’ before getting signed with Cold Busted Records. His first release with the label being a remix of Gramatik’s “Tearin’ It Up”. In 2011, he won 2nd place in the Mauitimes ‘Weekly Best Of” for best DJ on the island. 

2014 saw Astro Raph getting signed to Gravitas Records with a release titled “Eternal Spirit”. It includes collaborations with Audio Diplomats and Keen Klaws, and features remixes by Wolf-e-Wolf and Soulular.

In 2016, he released with another label focused on ambient and electronica with chill-trap influences, Cyborg Recordings. In 2018 he landed gigs with Proper Chicago Drum & Bass crew and worked an internship with Maek Records. 

In 2020 Astro started releasing deep house and techno with Trax Mission Records. He currently holds down a weekly Mixcloud show at www.mixcloud.com/live/astro303/ on Saturdays, Wednesdays and Mondays at 5pm [CDT] and is in Full Sail University getting a degree in Music Production.
