Max Rfr is a promising upcoming artist from the Netherlands who entered the underground Techno scene in early 2019. He produces a variety of energetic rolling basslines with deep and hypnotic influences. We are excited to see what this artist will bring in the future.

This DJ, producer but also organizer (based in Tilburg) is known for his deep, dynamic, hypnotic, and firm sound, but always with a groovy element. Which makes him a perfect fit with ALU. He also doesn’t shy away when it comes to experimenting with styles and music. He always thrives to tell his own authentic story through his music and takes the crowd on a journey.

In 2020 he co-founded ‘Eindstation’ in Utrecht, where he is also a resident. They want to go back to the essence and intimacy of the techno and club culture. They believe the underground is where the soul of the scene resides. They held their first official event at the Helling Utrecht in 2022.

Episode 29 from the series is devoted to a DJ & producer from Düsseldorf 🇩🇪, by the name of Maxim Bogdanovic. Being an active member of the German underground scene since 2018. He’s also the co-founder of the „NDT“ collective aswell as the curator of the weekly „cube x“ event series.

His style is a mix between hypnotic techno with deep atmospheres and loopy hard hitting groove sounds.

Today we host Max Rfr a DJ, producer and organizer based in Tilburg 🇳🇱 and known for his deep, dynamic, hypnotic, and firm sound but always with a groovy element. He doesn’t shy away when it comes to experimenting with styles and music. He always thrives to tell his own authentic story through his music and takes the crowd on a journey. Almost like he is having a conversation with the crowd. You need to be there from start to finish to understand and experience what he is saying. 

Production wise, Max Rfr has released his first track ‘Overwatch’ in 2021 followed by ‘Asura’ on De Missie Various Artists I. In the same year he recorded a podcast for Dutch underground organization Eindstation and a year after for Club Basis Utrecht. This last one resembles his current style the most. He played at parties like De Missie in Eindhoven and Eindstation in Utrecht, to name a few.

In 2020 he co-founded EINDSTATION in Utrecht, where he is also a resident. They want to go back to the essence and intimacy of the techno and club culture. They believe the underground is where the soul of the scene resides. They held their first legal party at the Helling Utrecht in 2022.

Although his love for techno music is still young, his passion for the genre is deep.

Expect a deep, dynamic, hypnotic, and firm sound when Max Rfr is behind the decks. He is on a mission to get people dancing and takes them on a personal journey through the landscape of his music and depth of his sound.

Hyped to announce our 39th guest to the series. All the way from Buenos Aires, Argentina 🇦🇷. We introduce you to a super skilled dj and producer by the name of Gina Demarchi. With a deep passion for electronic genres and blending different styles into energising sets. Ranging from groove to tribal, dubtechno and hardgroove. She presented her set in different cycles and clubs in Buenos Aires, and in other iconic countries such as Chile. And podcasts with on big channels such as Akronym, Synergie, Influenced Records and more.

Next to being a DJ Gina is also a well known producer with releases on Diffuse Reallity, Analogue network together with our friend CucaRafa, Different Sound a VA by SixthSense and many more. Currently she’s working on a new EP loaded with grooves and remixes by high caliber artists.

Also Gina is the co-owner and creator of the groove music event organisation called HOODED together with Dokker. A resident for Balls in Europe and signed by the Agency Coldnorth in Barcelona.

For this hour long podcast Gina has used 4 decks seeking a combination of styles between modern groove, oldschool, hiphop, house and dubtechno to be able to provide depth, sensitivity, and rhythm above all, it is a track set that It was totally spontaneous, she always looks for creativity under the trays and that for her is in improvisation, the set was not put together from a logic but from a line, and as a concept she seeks freedom of expression for that very reason is that she chooses between letting herself being and feeling it, with a lot of movement and flow!

Lindsey Herbert es una figura prominente de la escena techno actual, especialmente conocida en el suroeste de EE.UU. por su inquebrantable dedicación a los sonidos y el diseño sonoro más underground del techno, y su capacidad para congregar multitudes sin importar las circunstancias.  

Lindsey comenzó como una joven raver con una intensa pasión por la música de baile y su comunidad, comenzó su propio viaje musical a la edad de 15 años y ha estado en él durante casi la mitad de su vida. Desde su primera actuación en 2014, ha sido una fija junto a artistas de primer nivel en las bulliciosas escenas de Los Ángeles y San Francisco, dejando una huella indeleble en ambas ciudades. Originalmente residente y booker de Robot Ears y ahora residente de Direct to Earth, Lindsey ha sido una parte integral del paisaje techno de San Francisco, mientras que también ha adornado los escenarios de prominentes promotores de Los Ángeles como OBSERVE, Synthetik Minds, 6AM, Dirty Epic, RE/FORM y más. Su influencia se extiende más allá de las fronteras con constantes actuaciones como cabeza de cartel tanto a nivel nacional como internacional, mientras que su más reciente reubicación en Phoenix la ve nutriendo activamente a la comunidad techno local como residente de Techno Snobs. 

En 2019, Lindsey hizo su debut como productora en solitario en Ascetic Limited de Los Ángeles, marcando el comienzo de un prolífico viaje en el estudio. Cabe destacar que en 2023 actuó en los escenarios del Movement Festival de Detroit y en el emblemático Tresor de Berlín, lo que consolidó aún más su presencia en la escena mundial. Además, fue invitada personalmente por la lumbrera del techno Richie Hawtin para hacer una gira por Norteamérica como parte de su concepto From Our Minds, consolidando aún más su estatus en la industria. 

El sonido personal de Lindsey ha evolucionado hacia un estilo más hipnótico, groovy y orientado a la pista de baile. Sus sets, que van del ambient al deep, pasando por la hora punta y la alta energía, están meticulosamente elaborados para adaptarse al ambiente, con el objetivo de sumergir a los oyentes en un viaje cautivador y encerrarlos en un groove implacable.

CLOSERcast proudly presents Temudo, a standout figure in contemporary Techno, premiering his brand new live set, recorded at Disorder @ Liquid Club (October 2024), exclusively on our platform!

Known for blending the soul of Techno with a modern, unorthodox approach, Temudo's music is characterised by gritty, futuristic sounds, with a signature motif resembling a rusty crank pounding into a brick wall. In 2023, Temudo embarked on a new journey into live performance, delivering spontaneous sets that challenge traditional expectations. Each live set is a unique, improvised act where he pushes the boundaries of Ableton to its sonic limits. 

"The main idea is that the music of that recording didn’t exist before the performance itself. It was all created on the flow, one idea after the other, through the control of sequencers, Lfos, arpeggiators and other complex midi processing, as well as virtual synthesizers and sound processors. I would have an idea playing for the audience, and would prepare the next one (by pre listening on the headphones) and would eventually blend both."

Last saturday was really special to me. In 1997 i´ve played my first Live Set ever at the old Tresor in Berlin as DisX3. Now for their 25th Label Birthday, Tresor invited me to play a special DisX3 DJ Set. I´ve spent 3 weeks of preparing all the old Tracks that made me dance when i was a young boy and went to Tresor almost every Weekend. So for me this DJ Set was kind of time travel. I hope you enjoy the ride as much as i did! Enjoy!
