Episode 29 from the series is devoted to a DJ & producer from Düsseldorf 🇩🇪, by the name of Maxim Bogdanovic. Being an active member of the German underground scene since 2018. He’s also the co-founder of the „NDT“ collective aswell as the curator of the weekly „cube x“ event series.

His style is a mix between hypnotic techno with deep atmospheres and loopy hard hitting groove sounds.

Sounds From NoWhere welcomes aboard the Spanish dj & producer Irazu (Semantica Records / Stale).

Born in Madrid, living somewhere in Europe, Irazu’s connection with electronic music is just a symbol of sonic expressionism of self discovery to try to know what he is.
Starting his contribution to music as a promoter of parties in Madrid, making music and release records was a necessary way to express emotions that he felt a few years later.
His first records came out in the last two years in Kastil’s label ‘’Stale’’, working with artists like Acronym, Regis, Pessimist and Kastil, ‘’Study for portrait’’ was released giving again his personal vision of techno as a mini album.
After a few more releases in Platforms like Hooded or Artificial intelligence and some remixes, Irazu released ‘’140.15 EP’’ on Kastil’s label Stale giving his most intense and dance focused tracks he ever made.
Irazu continues his constant search of new sounds and ways to explore his mind through music.
His influences comes specially from the UK west Midlands, Holland, Italy and Spain, figures like: Regis, Svreca, Autechre, Oscar Mulero, Donato Dozzy, Luke Slater or Surgeon are a way to define what he believes in a sonic way.
We are thrilled to host this killer mix weaving through hypnotic and groovy moods.

Hyped to announce our 39th guest to the series. All the way from Buenos Aires, Argentina 🇦🇷. We introduce you to a super skilled dj and producer by the name of Gina Demarchi. With a deep passion for electronic genres and blending different styles into energising sets. Ranging from groove to tribal, dubtechno and hardgroove. She presented her set in different cycles and clubs in Buenos Aires, and in other iconic countries such as Chile. And podcasts with on big channels such as Akronym, Synergie, Influenced Records and more.

Next to being a DJ Gina is also a well known producer with releases on Diffuse Reallity, Analogue network together with our friend CucaRafa, Different Sound a VA by SixthSense and many more. Currently she’s working on a new EP loaded with grooves and remixes by high caliber artists.

Also Gina is the co-owner and creator of the groove music event organisation called HOODED together with Dokker. A resident for Balls in Europe and signed by the Agency Coldnorth in Barcelona.

For this hour long podcast Gina has used 4 decks seeking a combination of styles between modern groove, oldschool, hiphop, house and dubtechno to be able to provide depth, sensitivity, and rhythm above all, it is a track set that It was totally spontaneous, she always looks for creativity under the trays and that for her is in improvisation, the set was not put together from a logic but from a line, and as a concept she seeks freedom of expression for that very reason is that she chooses between letting herself being and feeling it, with a lot of movement and flow!

Milena Adamis joins for DifferentSound Podcast #243.

Born in the city of La Plata -Buenos Aires-, Milena Adamis has positioned herself during the last few years as one of the fastest growing DJs in the Argentine techno scene. Her sound covers variants of techno, such as hypnotic, hardgroove, breaks, Detroit and experimental sounds  among others. In addition to touring throughout Argentina, and all over the continent, Milena is resident of the renowned Crobar club in Buenos Aires and co-founder of the Mothership Artists agency. 

Milena Shared booth with artists like
Nastia, Hector Oaks, Cleric, Marcal, FLUG, Marc Houle, Alan Fitzpatrick, Sam Paganini, Nicole Moudaber, Dubfire, Enrico Sangiuliano, Pan Pot and  many others. She  played at  Ultra Festival (Peru), Under Club (Argentina), Bar Américas (Mexico), she also will be part of KNTXT argentina next 4th of November, and will be part of MIND MEDIZIN showcase at Crobar.

In 1981 an eleven year old kid gets a gift, that is the New Life 7 inch by Depeche Mode, from that very moment the cold beats of drum machines and the alien sounds of synthesizers are the soundtrack of his life, until today. Living the eighties as a teenager, he absorbs every futuristic and dark sound as a fan, new wave, goth, proto EBM, classics like Kraftwerk or Tangerine Dream. 1987 marks the switch from being pasive to being active, he gets his first synth and drum machine combo as a christmas gift from their parents, a second hand Kawai Sx 240 keyboard and a Korg kpr 77 drum machine, and starts making his own noises and beats from scratch. Soon he forms his first music project, called Ballet Mecánico, with his two fellows Groof and Daniel Erbe.

Heavily synth pop influenced in the beginning, their sound soon moves to darker territories after discovering Front 242 and Nitzer Ebb and later moving into proto rave sounds via the Frequencies album by LFO or the Yellow album by Orbital, as well as those lovely Detroit compilations released in the UK by Network records: Bio Rhythm and Retro techno amomg others. This project last until the mid nineties and left two vinyl releases. 1995 is when his solo career as Hd Substance starts, releasing a track on the Electronic Generators compilation, a showcase of spanish techno pioneers at the moment, on Geometrik records, home of the seminal industrial cult band Esplendor Geométrico a stepping stone to his debut album Eleven on the also cult label Elefant Records.

After more than 20 years in the bussines, more than 30 Ep’s and six full lenght albums, Hd Substance is still here as a full actor in the scene, writing, composing, remixing and playing electronic beats all over the globe, as live performer or as traditional beatmatching DJ. An entire life devoted to electronic music in any form.
