Gone To Earth

asylumpeace is a vehicle for the music of London-born, Scotland-based guitarist and 'sound artist' Christopher Andreas. The moniker arises from an admiration of the writing of Anna Kavan, notably her short story collection 'Asylum Piece' (first published 1940) with its direct yet poetic style of prose - both disturbing and beautiful.

Christopher says: 'my method of playing, making field recordings and sampling, and unifying of these elements into 'pieces' is one that has evolved over many years from an early, formative phase of standard rock forms. This suits my circumstances and temperament. Somewhat bizarrely - though, I am learning, perhaps not so unusually - it may have been 'accidents' and glitches that steered my method and sound in its current and, for me, very fulfilling direction.'
