The 7th chapter in the Aterral saga sees the label's mastermind @carlothings hook up with kindred spirit @a_baloo, Saudi Arabia's advocate of groove and real keeping believer in all things House. The showcased material on this EP is the result of a mutual session in Carlo's Berlin studio from the end of 2020 and it's a manifest of two dedicated devotees to the genre being on the same page. Things kick off with "Graduate", an irresistible finger snapping feelgood tune with a Dub flavour, riding on a thick and funky bassline, dispersing into echo every now and then.

New drop in Fluid Funk’s steady stream of groovy, feel good releases, Sven Wegner's lush “Night of Light EP” attests to the Hamburg producer’s successful U-turn from the classic house and techno formulas towards further sample-heavy wares and photovoltaic funk joints. The EP is scheduled for landing on October 29th.

Starting off with the dislocated jazz swing of its title-track, the EP lays down an instantly rousing, easy-to-love vibe throughout the room. “Night of Light” is a laid-back slice of jazz house, not quite picking a side between the effusive smoothness of its drum work and the many potentialities of its ruff taped sampling knocked askew. More of a functionally loop enhanced with Irish violin hoodoo and near-abstract processed samples, “Babette” makes for a much lovable bit of bucolic DJ functionality.

Dipping toes in a swelteringly sensual nightly ambience,“French Late Night” lets the bass talk. A chiseled mosaic of RnB vocal samples dressed with deadly piano stabs emerging like shiny knives out red velvet drapes, and there comes a seriously infectious night of alcove boogie. Doing just what's written on the tin, “Sunny Your Mind” teleports us to warm blankets of white sand with cocktails in our hands and little straw hats floating amidst the vivid gradation of its gently inebriating flavours. Cast off and enjoy.

Emanuele Barilli is an Italian producer based in Berlin these days. As romantic as it sounds, we met him at a party and since then, we have been hanging out non-stop. We really like his music and we are proud to have his debut on Aterral with four cuts that are four deeper shades of House. The music of this young producer is heavily influenced by the Italian house makers of the past decades and he has unique skills to craft a fresh modern sound with a long-established touch.

Cor.ece is a whole vibe. The LA-based vocalist and songwriter recently exploded onto the scene through an incendiary collaboration with Honey Dijon on her Defected singles “Unleash” and “Work,” and now Cor.ece delivers his own unique musical statement with his solo debut on RNT, the Dance To Keep From Crying EP.

Leading the project is Possibly Impossible, with RNT’s JKriv on production and Dave Giles III on the mic. The A-side fuses airy and expansive vocal soundscapes with a certifiably infectious hook, and shows Cor.ece’s dynamism as a performer and songwriter.

Nothing But Me rides a low-slung groove, leaving room for Corece’s vocal percussion & lyricism, before Sky85 arrives as a moody late-nite R&B burner. With sultry vocal textures layered over a driving machine drum beat and electro bassline, the LA singer delves into darker vocal territory in this song that's as hauntingly emotive as it is catchy.

The title track Dance To Keep From Crying, produced by JKriv and featuring the keyboard wizardry of Jason Lindner, elevates energy with crisp house kicks and a punchy analog-tinged bassline igniting the two-step, while closing duty comes with What’s The Word’s acidic synth-driven deviance featuring Danny Kane.

With interlude skits from Darrell J. Hunt sprinkled throughout the EP, Cor.ece brings it full circle on his first feature length project.
