Equally inspired by Nirvana, The Cure, Nine Inch Nails, and Portishead, the LA-based project, ATFLA, combines gritty synthetics, cinematic textures, and sultry melodies to support emotionally vulnerable lyrics. Consisting of singer/songwriter Irene Merring and composer/producer/multi-instrumentalist Mike Genato, the pair bonded in 2010 over their love for 90’s grunge and trip hop, and sought to develop a style that hearkens back to that era. What resulted was an album’s worth of deep, haunting, and moody songs about love, loss, heartbreak, and grief. In concert, Irene’s vocals and Mike’s electronics are augmented with a drummer and guitarist, resembling more of a traditional rock band lineup.

Heros Gabri is a Guitarist/Singer/Songwriter based out of Los Angeles, CA. 
He is the frontman, lead singer, songwriter, and guitar player for his new debut self titled band. His signature sound is a musical mix of different genres including acoustic rock and classic rock and roll. Born and raised in Los Angeles, with his father being a former musician, Heros was exposed to a wide variety of music at a very young age. Heavily influenced from The Beatles to Metallica and everything in between Heros decided to pick up a guitar in 2008 at 13 years old and hasn’t put it down since. Seven years later in 2015 Heros Kickstarted his career as a full time musician at 20 years old. Ever since he has created/joined numerous amounts of bands playing sold out shows at iconic concert venues like Whiskey A Go Go, Troubadour, The Roxy, The Viper Room, House Of Blues, and has even written original songs for the Amazon Prime show “Goliath” staring Billy Bob Thornton. Now with all this experience under Heros’s belt he is finally launching his solo project.

Hearkening back to the days when music poured from the heart, Irene Merring combines her powerful voice, attitude, flare, and exotic sex-appeal with a tortured songwriting style reminiscent of her influences Kurt Cobain and Robert Smith of The Cure. Her songs evoke emotion and thought, rebelling against the current culture of mindless reality tv and slanderous social-networking that have diminished appreciation for true artistic icons. Showing incredible intuition for underground music, Irene balances that with melodic sensibilities still compelling to the masses. What's created is a sound that seductively pulls at you from multiple directions.

Born in Queens, even as a young winner of pageants and talent competitions (Miss Big Apple, Miss New York State of Hal Jackson International, and Miss Junior American to name a few) Irene Merring has always shown great amounts of raw and unique talent. Poised and precocious, she stood out from the crowd because she was unafraid to speak her mind and be herself. This gave her the edge and experience to come out on top, landing her a spot at Berklee College of Music, a nomination from the Boston Music Awards, and backup singing gigs with top stars such as Mariah Carey.

In 2008, Irene found her niche working with RVRS:PLAY, who, coming from Industrial, Drum & Bass, and Downtempo genres, infused the singer/songwriter with gritty synthetics. Finding common ground in their love for 90's Grunge, the pair's nearly psychic connection led to a set of songs that sits slightly left of centre from the mainstream. This new alternative artist entices you to take the journey with her through darkness.
