DJ Promo started around 1992 as a DJ. Back then he played at smaller gabber parties and because he didn't have a permanent place, he also organized his own hardcore parties. At those parties, which took place in community centers and sports halls, the then more famous DJs from the genre also came. When he also started producing around 1995, he became more noticeable to the public. His first hit dates back to the gabber era: his gabber version of Don't Speak by No Doubt became a success.

When the movement disappeared at the end of the nineties due to overkill and commercial parodies of gabber music, Promo continued to produce. This resulted in the 'Promo File' series, which he first released under the ID&T label. The 'Promo Files' were at the root of a change in the sound of hardcore music. Characteristic was the slower tempo but kicks that were harder. In 2000 he started his own label, The Third Movement, together with colleague X-ess.

In 2003 Promo got the chance to show his modern hardcore at Q-dance's hardstyle party "Qlimax". However, a few days before the party, Promo decided not to play after Q-dance only gave him 30 minutes and also asked if he didn't want to play hard. The following year, Promo was asked to shut down Sensation Black.

In 2004 X-ess and Catscan left, giving DJ Promo complete freedom. He came up with his alias Rude Awakening (industrial, experimental hardcore/techno/electro) and he set up a booking agency, where almost all major hardcore artists are affiliated. He also brought a number of sub-labels where he gave fellow artists (Tommy Pulse and Lady Dana) the opportunity to release their music.

Athenalys est une DJ/Productrice originaire de Toulouse. Attirée depuis l'enfance par la musique électronique, c'est naturellement qu'elle parcourt les raves et les free parties pendant plus de 10 ans. En 2019 qu'elle se décide à apprendre le DJing, avec une sélection musicale entre douceur et brutalité. Grâce à des djsets mélangeant différents types de Hardcore, elle a aujourd'hui su convaincre son public, et même les plus réticents au genre. Avec plusieurs releases à son actif comme « Sakura » et « Free party » sorties chez Undergroundtekno, En 2022 sa track « Valkyrie » se retrouve sur vinyle. En 2023, elle fait partie de la tournée « Born to Rave » avec Audiogenic. Elle finit l’année en étant sur l'emblématique compile Hollandaise : Thunderdome avec sa track «New Dawn».

Originaire de Toulouse, Athenalys est DJ et productrice passionnée par la musique électronique depuis son plus jeune âge. Après plus de dix ans passés au cœur des raves et free parties, elle se lance en 2019 dans le DJing. Ses sets, à la croisée du Downtempo et du Hardcore, allient douceur mélodique et puissance rythmique, captivant même les plus exigeants. Depuis ses débuts en production en 2020, Athenalys a vu ses créations paraître sur des labels de référence. On retrouve notamment Free Party sur Undergroundtekno, Valkyrie en vinyle chez Tikal Sound Record (2022), ou encore Promises, une collaboration avec Goetia sortie sur Karnage Records. En 2023, elle marque une nouvelle étape en intégrant la légendaire compilation Thunderdome avec le titre New Dawn. Sur scène, Athenalys s’impose progressivement comme une figure montante. Elle a déjà performé lors de la tournée Born to Rave (Audiogenic), au Dystopia Festival, au Nexus à Paris, ainsi qu’au festival What The Karnage. Autant de prestations qui confirment une ascension artistique indéniable et prometteuse.
