Started out of Austin, Texas, now residing in Berlin, Germany, Gravy Jones plans to take intergalactic funk and underground electronic music to the next level. Focusing on using samplers, drum machines, and hardware synths, Gravy Jones tries to bridge a gap between the terrestrial and the ethereal, the Dirty of Southern Hip-Hop with the edgy minimalism of German Electro, the 4 on the floor to the 2-4. While not laying down fat beats, Gravy Jones moonlights as a live music photographer and music video director. Big Mic blends an aggressive rhyme scheme with potent bars beckoning back to the days of Big Pun with an underlying grittiness that speaks from the streets.   He was  born & raised in South Texas in the Victoria/Goliad area where the southern music sound & the tejano music culture surrounded him as a youth. In  the mid to late 80's his big sister introduced him to East Coast Hip Hop pioneers such as RUN DMC, Big Daddy Kane, Rakim, & ATCQ to name a few. Those influences made a lasting impression on his artist approach & direction. His lyrical picture painting writing style allows listeners to delve into his work & follow along with a visual aspect of each concept he conveys in his music. His lyrics speak of unity, freedom & building the community/society through Hip Hop while paying homage to boom bap emceeing & substance through his thought provoking art.
He has had success touring across the United States and bested many foes in rap battles showing off his freestyle prowess & wordplay off the top. He’s currently working  on his follow up official release project to his freshman success Optimus Rhyme, nominated for the Austin Hip Hop Awards Album of the Year in 2016. He is also the active Vice President of College of Hip Hop Knowledge LLC.
