Jimpster is back with his first full EP since Porchlight And
Rocking Chairs! With only a smattering of remixes for the likes of
Paxton Fettel, Detroit Swindle, Till Von Sein, Cajuu and S-Man and
original track Head Spin for the 200th Freerange double pack it’s
been a fairly quiet time studio-wise the last couple of years. All
that is about to change however with 2015 shaping up to be full of
new music in various shapes and forms and under different guises.
English Rose kicks off the fresh new Jimpster biz in fine style
with the most majestic of tracks, single-handedly announcing that
summer is officially here. A sense of anticipation pervades as the
chunkiest of disco breaks drive the track, hazy vocal pads
occasionally piercing the layers of spinning echoes. We’re thinking
DJ Gregory meets Walter Gibbons in a star-lit clearing of a lush
rainforest on some far-flung tropical island.
Up next we have Solitude, an afro-techno soundclash infused with
that trademark Jimpster sound where the devil is in the detail of
this beautifully subtle and rolling groove. Seven minutes thirty
seconds of complete bliss to get well and truly lost in!
Finally we have Drakkar Noir which once again attempts to hypnotize
you with a relentless old-school house groove and simple, drifting
synths. Distant vocals go in and out of focus as the track ebbs
and flows, finally deciding to call it a day after nearly nine
minutes but still manages to leave you wanting more.

@aroop-roy is next up on Lazy Days, bringing his well honed house tones to the label in four varied takes on chunky Deep House. "Afrika My Home" is utterly infectious with its shuffling groove and warm, buttery keys. The track also gets a heavy dubbed out treatment at the end of the record and sounds even more potent for late night dance-floor sessions. 

Already garnering a #2 Best Sellers in Vinyl for All Genres spot on Juno, a 9/10 Mixmag Review, and Radio Support by Gilles Peterson on BBC6, this EP is definitely one to pay attention to!

Joyce Muniz is a DJ, producer and singer from Vienna with Brazilian roots, who has been making waves around Europe for a number of years. 

Now relocated to Berlin, Muniz has a string of amazing releases on the likes of Exploited, K7!, Get Physcial and 2020 Vision. On Steve Bug’s flagship label, Muniz now drops What’s Your Name with the hugely talented Demetrius on vocal duties.  

The full version is a tough tech house groover, the bumps and swings via a sick rhythm section and thick, rolling bass pulse. Demetrius’s low slung vocals add to the sleezey, edgy vibe of the track. 

The instrumental offers DJs a vocalless version that really lets the bass come to the fore.
