The 45th release lands on Infinite Depth and this time it’s a 5-track EP by the British Baardman. After shaping the EP for a while, these tracks are fully ready to see the light under the name of the ‘Embrace Variance’ EP. Four originals, accompanied by a great remix of our friend and sophisticated producer Alex Preda.

‘Aumento’ is the first track of the EP and it immediately shows the immersiveness of the full collection. On top of the slower, but hypnotizing groove, an overwhelming blanket of synths is settling down. In the middle of the track, it feels like it takes a small break, after which the play of synths gets even more compelling. 

The title track ‘Embrace Variance’ has a very high-tensioned arrangement, through which you can feel the lead building up and up towards the point after the break. This all guided by a repeating detuned element, which makes place for a new synth, working to a dry, but impactful, climax together. 

‘Facing The Observer’ is a break track focused on the drums surrounded by plucky and dreamy elements. An atmospheric and calm break is one of the outstanding moments during this track. After the break an unexpected saw is coming in, which could be seen as a perfect change of dynamics.

Next up is Alex Preda his remix of ‘Facing The Observer’. He took the lead of the original and built a more fast pace and groovy arrangement around it. The other important element is a sawing synth, which also keeps the original alive. All elements are communicating with each other, forming a playful and tight wholeness. 

Where the EP started of quite deep, it ends more danceable, groovy and focused on basslines and percussion. ‘Daemons’ slowly evolves into a continuous repetition of the lower part, accompanied by organic and sharp percussion. Together it’s working towards the final big moment of this EP, bringing the collection of tracks to an impressive end.

Darin Epsilon welcomes Trilucid for the 52nd release on Perspectives Digital, which was recently nominated for Breakthrough Label of 2017 in DJ Mag’s Best of North America Awards.  The London based duo of Andy MacDougall and Hilton Caswell teamed up in 2013 after a series of successful solo projects and are currently residents of the Gallery Club at Ministry of Sound.  Together they’ve showcased their pristine style on top labels such as Toolroom, Anjunabeats, Perfecto, Coldharbour, Flashover, and Black Hole Recordings.

For their first EP on Perspectives, Trilucid combine the groove of Progressive House with emotionally charged melodies to craft the perfect summer release.  The warm bassline in ‘Endless Moment’ is layered with hypnotic vocals and delicate, breezy melodies, while ’Twist’ earns its name with playful keys on top of galloping bass and reverberating stabs.  With a top notch debut and solid relationship with the industry’s leading imprints, the two are no doubt quickly headed down the road towards superstardom.

Berlin based DJ/producer and classically trained pianist Martin Roth has been receiving critical acclaim and praise since being named ‘Beatport Star of 2009’ alongside Eric Prydz and Deadmau5, as well as three nominations at the annual Beatport Awards.  He has smashed the Beatport charts numerous times with releases on Anjunadeep, Sudbeat, Global Underground, Black Hole, and Parquet Recordings.  Martin’s masterful remix of ‘Endless Moment’ brings a darker and more intense edge to round out the package, and solidifies his reputation as being amongst the industry’s elite producers.
